What’s your most controversial opinion?

By no longer enforcing the 5000 max posts per thread, the entire fabric of lit has changed. I'm not sure it's for the better.
I don’t know; I think it’s just different. The 5,000 cap was only for a few years. Essentially, we have just switched back. There are some large historical threads.

Also, and I’ve let a few people who run their own threads know this, but I’m happy to close threads if people want to close them and start a new one.

The change was already happening...once a ball starts rolling downhill it is really hard to stop it.

I'm quite a fan of Toblerone when I can get it... I'm however extraordinarily dubious about carob. It's been many years, but I recall thinking it was a very poor substitute for chocolate. I sincerely hope it's been improved upon since I last had some.

Hard cider is better than beer. One of my favorites is a hopped marionberry cider.

I am glad to know this. I will do that with the Emporium if it ever reaches 5,000

Disagree. I have had a few decent ciders in my life but hundreds of great beers. Personal preference I guess.
I've had many great beers. Ambers and porters especially. hard pass on the IPAs and there are way too many IPAs in the world. In the last 15 years I've had many many more excellent hard ciders than I've had excellent beer.

Obviously... to each their own

Carob has a somewhat similar, but not as full or rich of a flavor as chocolate. In candies, cookies, and cupcakes carob is very good with its lighter taste. I haven't tried it in hot drinks, ice cream, or dessert cakes, nor do I intend to. But for the reduction in calories as well as the absence of stimulants carob is a good trade-off. Currently, I'm enjoying some carob-coated raisins as well as some carob/hazelnut breakfast cookies. Perhaps accepting carob as being in addition to chocolate rather than its substitute is a better means of classifying it.

My Mom tried to give it to us as kids. All I remember is thinking I'd rather have nothing if carob was the only option. 😂

Carob tastes like shit compared to decent chocolate. It is like drinking Blatz beer...or PBR.

This....

My mother would pull this shit. "It is as good as...:" Bullshit.

Never ever skimp when it comes to food quality

Kate Moss has since expressed regret since issuing this maxim: “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.”

What do you think?

US needs to reduce the number of Federal Holiday. No more than two per quarter.

January - New Years (Abolish others)
February - Presidents (Abolish others)
March - none

April - none
May - Memorial
June - Civil Rights (Combine current days from January and October)

July - Independence
August - none
September - Labor

October - none (Abolish others)
November - Veterans
December - the 25th (but with changes)

Hahaha
No

Give the people time off to rest, reflect, and be with their families.

It should be mandatory time and a half or even double time for all federal holidays.

More beer for me. Wish people felt this way about bourbon.

I have so many questions. First being, why eliminate holidays? You're only reducing from 12 to 8 with your proposal. That's a lot of brain damage for 4 days.

Second, what's the civil rights holiday in October?

Third, why retain three military holidays in favor of eliminating every holiday that celebrates individual contributions to the US or important cultural history?

And why give up any days of holiday pay?
