BREAKING: Biden says US will 'militarily' defend Taiwan against China if they invade

"That's the commitment we made," Biden said. "That's the commitment we made. We are not—look," Biden said.

President Joe Biden stated unequivocally that the US would intervene militarily on behalf of Taiwan should China invade its territory. Biden was speaking in Tokyo at a conference with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

Noting that the US didn't want to "get involved in the Ukraine conflict militarily for obvious reasons," a reporter asked "are you willing to get involved militarily to defend Taiwan if it comes to that?"

"Yes," Biden said almost wistfully.

"You are," the reporter confirms.

"That's the commitment we made," Biden said. "That's the commitment we made. We are not—look. Here's the situation: we agree with the One China policy, we've signed onto it, and all of the attendant agreements made from there.

"But the idea that, that it could be taken by force, just taken by force, is just not appropriate. It will dislocate the entire region and be another action similar to what happened in Ukraine. And so it’s a burden that is even stronger," Biden said.

However the real people running the presidency inside the White House tried to walk it back in panic.

You whined about this in an earlier thread
I don't whine about anything. The date on the article is May 23 2022. So my comment on it didn't occur any earlier than this post. I earn a living solving problems. People like you, those who really whine, see problems as unsurmountable obstacles, they're immediately hit with a feeling of dread and helplessness and the urge to urinate in their pants, looking around in shame their first instinct is to project their feelings onto others, like you so often do in uncomfortable encounters with more informed people. Hopefully the day will come when you'll find the strength to stop and look at yourself introspectively, address your lack of intellectual rigor and discard your tendency to project the shame of your inherent shortcomings onto others. :D

You whine about everything. Don't lie. That's all your posts are.

No, that is a lie. I report, you whine.
I mock and ridicule the threads you create to whine about the left or democrats or Biden or all of the above.

It's not like there aren't receipts. This thread alone.....you're whining about Biden

I fail to see what anybody is complaining about, here. Isn't Biden's stated position here the same as the RW position?

Taiwan is an ally of the US. Allies defend each other.
But the PRC is a trading partner of the U.S. Trading partners don't piss each other off.

I recall back in 1992, Bill Clinton talked on the campaign trail about the PRC's human-rights record and how because of that it did not deserve most-favored-nation trading status. He was obliged, as president, to renew that status -- because America business interests were at stake. I saw a cartoon of Clinton eating in a Chinese restaurant -- caption: "Crispy crow with most favored noodles! I love Chinese food!"

You ridicule because you don't have the intellectual capacity to refute them with facts.

China is not a partner, it is an adversary that steals from us for the purpose of future domination.

The fact is that you are whining, constantly. You constantly overreact to stupid shit and extrapolate your biased opinion based on incomplete information.

But whatever makes you feel good about yourself.

Taiwan is also a trading partner with the US.

Being a trading partner does not assume that you approve of their government.

Yes, but the PRC is a much bigger one. They make everything you'll find at Wal-mart. Taiwan only makes computer chips. Not that that isn't important, because Taiwan is the world's main supplier of computer chips. But if American CEOs have to ask themselves, "Which country can we least afford to piss off?" it's the PRC, no question.

What's the difference, from the point of view of an American corporation?
Strictly a profit motive. There is no motive for our corporations to defeat China or the CCP and dominate the Chinese people militarily.

Exactly. And our leaders listen harder to the corporations than they listen to anybody else. Any case for war will have to be a very, very strong one, to overcome their objections.

What these dipshits fail to realize is that our incompetent fool of a president in an open forum for the whole world to see and hear was a major policy change. You can't argue with these idiots, they don't get it. They used every breath they had to defend and justify Biden's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan as well as the rest of his clown show, especially the border. That dumbass is going to appeal title 42, for what? He's the exact opposite of common sense.

What difference would it make if Trump were president? The calculations regarding business interests remain the same.

Trump wasn't being controlled by China, nor was his son selling Trump's influence to the CCP. That's the difference. Trump put sanctions on China, Biden obediently lifted them.
