January 6th Prosecution vs. Trump - Loving Updates

In early December 2020, several lawmakers attended a meeting in the White House counsel's office where attorneys for the president advised them that a plan to put up an alternate slate of electors declaring Trump the winner was not “legally sound.” One lawmaker, Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, pushed back on that position. So did GOP Reps. Matt Gaetz of Florida and Louie Gohmert of Texas, according to testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson, a former special assistant in the Trump White House.

Despite the warning from the counsel's office, Trump's allies moved forward. On Dec. 14, 2020, as rightly chosen Democratic electors in seven states — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, New Mexico, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — met at their seat of state government to cast their votes, the fake electors gathered as well.

They declared themselves the rightful electors and submitted false Electoral College certificates declaring Trump the true winner of the presidential election in their states.

Those certificates from the “alternate electors” were then sent to Congress, where they were ignored.
Less than a week later after the early December meeting at the White House, another plan emerged. In a meeting with House Freedom Caucus members and Trump White House officials, the discussion turned to the decisive action they believed that Pence could take on Jan. 6.
Those in attendance virtually and in-person, according to committee testimony, were Hice, Biggs, Gosar, Reps. Perry, Gaetz, Jordan, Gohmert, Mo Brooks of Alabama, Debbie Lesko of Arizona, and Greene, then a congresswoman-elect.

It’s not just “repugs” pointing out President’s mental deterioration. Prominent Democrats have pointed it out as well, and a large percentage of the American public, including Democrats, Republicans and Independents are concerned about his mental fitness.
Yah, Biden's just so far into the Alzheimer's now, you know him pushing for that huge infrastructure bill...similar to how Trump failed to get his unfrastructure bill passed...""This is just crazy that they got 19 Republican senators to vote for the unfrastructure bill?"

Biden does know there were no airports for the war of independence unlike Trump..."

Trump praised the Americans’ military efforts in the war against Great Britain. “Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory,” he said.

So i guess maybe Biden may have some normal mental ageing problems showing and Trump is just a fucking Idiot....I can agree with that...can you?

Another pivot to Trump. 😂

Another pivot to Trump.
Not a piviot, a comparison, and of note, I don't ever recall you worrying about Trump's mental capacity while he held office, now did you?
So why should anyone take note of your worrying over Biden's mental incompetency, obviously you didn't worry about Trump's obvious issues, yet do for Biden. Hmmmm that seems a bit hypocritical on your part eh?

Which simply reflects that this is what the right wing shit machine has hung its hat on for the moment. With Obama it was "He was born in Kenya" and "He's a Muslim", with Clinton it was "the death list" and "he tried to defect to the USSR", with Al Gore it was "I invented the Internet", and blah blah blah.

All I found to this end was a WaPo story that specifically said they did NOT question Biden's mental fitness, only that they supposedly implied concerns about it (while they were running against him - the article is from three years ago). It also mentioned that Booker wrongly accused Biden of forgetting something he had in fact said. That's the SCLM for you, always grasping at straws when it comes to Democrats bashing each other. Try again.

"Are you forgetting what you said two minutes ago?" Castro asked Biden, making many viewers wonder whether he was questioning the former vice president's mental acuity. "Are you forgetting already what you said just two minutes ago?"

Fed judge denies rnc's bid to prevent committee from accessing information
"House Defendants are not seeking, and Salesforce is not producing, any disaggregated information about any of the RNC’s donors, volunteers, or email recipients, including any person’s personally identifiable information," the judge wrote in his opinion.

Kelly also said he didn't agree with the RNC's argument that the House committee lacks the proper authorization to wield investigative power. He noted that the panel was narrowly focusing on a short period of time between the 2020 presidential election and Jan. 6, asking for information about fundraising emails sent through Salesforce's platform that helped the RNC spread claims that Joe Biden's victory was fraudulent.

"Through the subpoena, the select committee seeks information that will help it understand whether and how much those email campaigns attracted attention and thus were a factor in the January 6 attack," Kelly wrote. "The select committee’s demand is narrowly tailored to its interest. As the court has already explained, the select committee seeks reasonably relevant information from a narrow window during which the RNC sent emails promoting claims that the presidential election was fraudulent or stolen."

In other words, neither Castro nor Booker actually said what you claim they said. They only made comments that could be interpreted that way if that's what you want to believe, as we all know is the case with you.

Of course he does,he views this through the partisan lens. When did he speak out about possible mental issue with anyone from the Republican side? MTG? Jim Jordan? Mark Medows? Trump?...it's along list of people who he aptly deflects from,or out right ignores their gaffs....

Add Don Jr. to the list. Will Melania be next?
I don't think there would be a payoff in interviewing Melania--although maybe they should use the occasion for her to give that press conference that was promised within a week of Trump's inauguration to explain how she got a "genius" fast-track visa to get into the United States on the strength of an architectural degree she doesn't have--and. rather, went straight to being a nudie model.

A New York man who pleaded guilty to 10 charges related to the January 6 attack on the Capitol has testified before the congressional committee investigating the riot, according to court filings, making him the first known defendant to have cooperated and spoken with the panel.
although the charges carry a potential 28-year tariff, prosecutors are only seeking 4 years and defense are looking for 1 year home confinement.

"We are definitely taking advantage of the fact that most senior-level people in Washington depend on a lot of young associates and subordinates to get anything done," committee member Representative Jamie Raskin, who is a former federal prosecutor, told Politico on Monday.
"A lot of these people still have their ethics intact and don't want to squander the rest of their careers for other people's mistakes and corruption."

Among the younger staff members are Cassidy Hutchinson, a former special assistant to Trump's chief of staff, Mark Meadows; Greg Jacob, Pence's chief counsel in the vice president's office; Ben Williamson, another longtime Meadows aide; Ken Klukowski, an adviser to former Justice Department official Jeffrey; and Alexandra Preate, a press assistant for Trump adviser Steve Bannon.
"Washington is a place where decision-makers will make decisions, but it takes a staff to execute and implement them," Raskin said. "Those people are not bound by the kinds of compromising political allegiances that their bosses are."

Scott Perry, Jim Jordan, Mo Brooks, Andy Biggs and Kevin McCarthy have now been subpoenaed to testify before the 1/6 Committee.

They won't show, they have everything to gain and nothing to lose by ignoring the subpoena. I trust Democrats will remember this when the Republicans have a committee sitting, and request and or issue subpoena's in the future. Just think Hillary could have saved herself of 11 hours of wasted questions....

Committee wants to speak to rep loudermilk, Ga, about tour he led on Jan 5th!

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/co...ia-republican-pre-riot-tour-capitol-rcna29698

"We believe you have information regarding a tour you led through parts of the Capitol complex on January 5, 2021," Thompson and Cheney wrote to Loudermilk.

“Public reporting and witness accounts indicate some individuals and groups engaged in efforts to gather information about the layout of the U.S. Capitol, as well as the House and Senate office buildings, in advance of January 6, 2021,”
The panel leaders said in their letter that they had evidence that “directly contradicts” claims by GOP members of the House Administration Committee that security video showed no tours had taken place ahead of the attack.
yup, loudermilk was one of those loudly denying any such efforts, even today in a joint statement with Illinois rep rodney davis

is boebert off the hook for this, then, or was she a part of things/shared information with insurrectionists?

more on loudermilk:

EXCLUSIVE: Rep. Loudermilk gave a radio interview that blows up his denials about hosting Jan. 6 protesters in his office

Yesterday, Loudermilk said in a statement that “a constituent family” visited him the day before the Capitol riot. That is an updated version of a previous statement by Republicans on the Committee On House Administration—which Loudermilk is a member of—that originally stated “there were no tours, no large groups, no one with MAGA hats on" given by him or other Republicans in advance of the Capitol riot.

But in the interview—given as the riot was winding down—Loudermilk made it clear that he met with people who were planning to protest on Jan. 6, and that he discussed how they wanted to be in the crowd that day to protest the results of the 2020 election.
“Republicans on the Committee on House Administration ... claimed to have reviewed security footage from the days preceding January 6th and determined that '[t]here were no tours, no large groups, no one with MAGA hats on.' However, the Select Committee’s review of evidence directly contradicts that denial.”

apparently a 'constituent family' from church... who brought a bunch of friends (he forgot to mention that earlier). 12 people, wearing red baseball caps whom, according to loudermilk, attended the protest 'but left when things turned violent'.

giuliani testifies for 9 hours including breaks

“Because I fully expected he would continue to offer privileges, whether legitimate or otherwise,” said Kirschner. “There is one privilege claim that he absolutely has, it’s a Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, because we know he is still under criminal investigation by the Southern District of New York after a federal judge issued a warrant concluding there was probable cause to believe there was evidence of a crime in Rudy’s electronic devices.”
no doubt he'll buffoon and flummox his way through things, but in his attempts to obscure will likely reveal telling evidence to be followed and developed upon.

Your willful ignorance doesn't excuse the fact that Biden's cognitive ability is severely hampered. Democrats are hoping enough sensible people are around him to keep him from completely destroying our country, but we know better. Any person with just a meager amount of intellect can deduce from his pressers and speeches that his cognitive ability is not up to the job. He's a puppet who governs at the whims of the extremely progressive part of the democrat party and has left the rest of the country in limbo. Enjoy your $6 a gallon gasoline and your 8.3 % inflation.
