My gut (fortified with some experience) tells me that your average wife would (a) be horrified at the thought until (b) she and hubby are fooling around and (c) she finally accepts that (d) he thinks she's fucking hot. Just the way she is, with  all the flaws she sees in herself. Any couple that can bridge that chasm, well, I doubt their fires ever go out.

That last one is key, BTW. It's his appreciation for her sexiness that is enjoyable. If exposing it heightens the pleasure he gets from her body that's a turn-on.

I have read scholarly pieces that argue that the nature of sexual attraction and the kindling of desire is thus: Attractive women produce healthy amounts of lust in men; women get turned on by being wanted  badly. It is a lovely tango.
