Gas Prices Up 80% Since Biden Took Office

Uh, look at the price of gas since he took office and: Killed Keystone; stopped actively promoting US energy finds and exploration; pushed unsustainable and very expensive and useless alternatives; did nothing to clear the supply chain such as pressuring longshoremen union or using military; and a thousand other things, not the least of which is a general lack of cognition and a true disdain for America and its citizens.
But who am I? Just a guy who writes about finance and economics all day.

Biden Plans to Open More Public Land to Drilling

The president is under pressure to bring down gas prices, but any new drilling would be years away. The fees that companies pay would rise sharply.

But who are you? A guy who writes uninformed editorials about finance and economics. Is President Biden also to blame for Japan's inflation? Their gas pipelines and supply chains? Is President Biden responsible for oil companies fucking US citizens during a pandemic?

First headline: A Federal judge overruled his first executive order that suspended ALL new oil and gas leases. This was his team saying, Ok, we're now on your side after we lost in court.
Second headline: Another reason markets reacted poorly. The more the US kills these projects, the more the traders buy up what is around, driving up prices. You should have paid attention in Econ 101.
Who am I? someone whose stuff gets read by people who matter.
Regarding Japan, they have very little inflation; even with a recent rise. You thought you were smart by calling out a foreign country without realizing Japan's recent tiny increase is nothing compared to more countries. Nice try, though.
Is he responsible for their supply chain woes? Yes, partially. The US sneezes and the world catches a cold; esp countries so dependent on US trade, like Japan. Their supply chains are backed up bc American ports cannot offload their goods, affecting their ability and desire to load up another tanker full of their goods (or receive tankers of American produce and minerals).
Is he responsible for oil companies reacting to market forces and making money? Yes, he is feeding them directly from his hand. The same companies whose prices were so low under Trump are now in a position to make significantly more (though it is really traders and speculators who make the most).
Do the police gain when there is more crime? Ask yourself that. and ask yourself why you would defend such a meanspirited drooling idiot who has made your and our country's existences so much worse since he took office.

Where were you when the stock market was just recently breaking records? You're nothing but an uninformed partisan hack who writes editorials for the local junior college newsletter.

Yes, because not buying oil from socialist/fascist is better.
Moving the line....got it.

I'll stick with the topic of false premise called "energy independence". Feel free to talk to others on your topic.

Nice comeback! You showed me!
Now, pardon me while I write and people read.

Nope, still talking about energy independence.

The only reason we aren't is because (D)'eez are against it. For some reason you guys want is buying oil from the most horrible people on the planet instead of employing Americans to mobilize their own resources and technology.

If you want to discuss who we import from, feel free to do so with other people.

While it shouldn't have been as bad as it is there are a lot of things that you're just pretending were good ideas. Of course gas prices plummeted under Trump, he criminally mishandled Covid. The reality is unless you're a doctor you medical suggestions should be treated as absolute bullshit. The thing even to this day he go on the news for every channel and strongly advise getting the vaccine. If he wants to make it all about Operation Lightspeed which did put out a vaccine quickly. He could advice to continue social distancing, wash your hands more often than you probably do. I know I mostly wash my hands before eating or using the bathroom. Soap and water aren't out of control price wise. You could wash when you wake up and when you go to sleep, especially if you sleep with other people.

Oh and I haven't seen the 2021 records but 2020 the flu politely let Covid have its fun.

But yes when everybody limits their driving basically to home, work and maybe the grocery store at least for meat and vegetables there just fewer human interactions. Also a lot people lost their jobs over that period also slowing down gas usage. Which literally forced oil companies to decrease production of oil cus they were running out of places to put it. Which is a stupid problem to have but that is one of the true problems of capitalism. Its better in many, many cases to artificially shut down production just for control.

Granted part of the problem is basically we got to be heavily antigovernment and with fairly mostly poor reasons. While I wasn't there when JFK gave his famous speech we were much easier to accept the government and similar things. Our schools were the envy of the world yadda yadda.

But yes everybody going back to work at the same time was caused massive demand globally. And as others have pointed out its not like America is the only country on the planet experiencing high gas prices. Unless Biden is God he's clearly not making prices in the EU sky rocket.

Retards thinking that allowing Canadian oil to transit the US to be shipped to Asia makes the US "energy independent"

FFS.

Russia is a factor, but as the world runs out of oil, gas price jumps become higher and closer together. This jump has been coming for years, and the next one will be fewer years later. Using less energy is the obvious solution that the nation has been avoiding for four decades, but it is becoming unavoidable.

What is exactly wrong with buying oil from socialists or even communists as if there is enough them left to care about.

Just like Reichguide, this thread aged poorly. :)

Gas Prices Dropping Across United States, National Average Likely To Fall Below $3

The national average gas price in the United States is dropping and could fall below $3 a gallon soon.

Prices have dropped for the second week in a row to a national average of $3.07 per gallon.

With a median price of $2.99, this drop marked a decline of nearly five cents over the past week and a 13-cent drop from last month, Gas Buddy reported.

Diesel prices fell too, with the average now at $3.54 per gallon, the lowest in over three years.

Drill, baby drill or unlimited fracking is NOT going to make the U.S. energy-independent.

Fuck, this thread's old as fuck.
Gas prices have decreased tremendously in the 2 years since this thread started by the way. Credit for this must go to Biden then, since after all, the premise of the thread was that Biden was responsible for the high prices originally.

You don't see too many grinning Biden stickers on gas pumps anymore....the ones that say "I did that!".

Poor MAGA garbage wanted to run on high gas prices this year. I honestly thought Bonesaw and his OPEC cartel would cut production to raise prices, get a little richer and most of all, aid Donald's campaign. I was mistaken.

Still kind of amusing when Rightguide splutters "Gas was $1.78 a gallon on election day 2020" Yup, erryone working from home and nobody driving anywhere....
