Get Woke, Go Broke

Not really. Read section 2:

A school district may not adopt procedures or student 64 support forms that require school district personnel to withhold 65 from a parent information about his or her student’s mental, 66 emotional, or physical health or well-being, or a change in 67 related services or monitoring, or that encourage or have the 68 effect of encouraging a student to withhold from a parent such 69 information, unless a reasonably prudent person would believe 70 that such disclosure would result in abuse, abandonment, or 71 neglect, as those terms are defined in s. 39.01.

Which is a fairly wide standard.

That 'standard' will have to be able to stand up in a court of law. Do you think school admin will be able to quickly and privately approve a "parent's rights" to be circumvented under this bill?

Ever seen "due diligence " proven in court or determination whether a decision was "prudent"? It takes lots of legal expense .

I've read the bill and I'm aware of what it does, but thank you anway. And our back and forth was losely based on it. I'm fully in support of it.
Based on what you’ve written you’re clearly not aware of what the bill actually does which is why I still strongly suggest you take the time to read it.

... I'm not just shooting off my mouth here. I'm a foster parent and have been through several contested guardianships. My wife used to be an early childhood educator and now works in homeless services as a family law paralegal.

...and I'm also a queer childhood victim of abuse.

Here's a quandary for you:

How would you deal with this as an early grades teacher without discussing gender?

When my wife was teaching kindergarten some kids were playing dress-up , getting into the costumes and role-playing house, rescue the princess, etc. One little boy usually wanted to be the princess and would often put on one of the costume dresses.

His parents were divorced and one day his dad came to pick him up and found his son dressed as a princess. He'd painted his nails with finger paint and was having fun with all of the other kids who didn't seem to think anything was strange. The dad was upset. He yelled at his kid and yanked the dress off of him, damaging a costume that lots of the kids loved. Many of the kids were upset and had questions .

How would you handle this? Expel the boy?

Don't let the kids chose their activities? Have only gender neutral costumes? Not allow kids to role-play? Not allow them to play house?

These are daily activities in young grades. These issues are played and practiced by kids spontaneously everyday.

Why are you teaching kids how to have sex? Sicko!

But yah....teachers deal with shit that the parents have no clue about... especially the parents who wouldn't talk to their kids about anything.

And they'll ruin the careers of talented teachers.

And the end result is that no one will risk going into that career field.

It's cute that you people think this is going to happen because DeSantis said it.

I would ask the father to tell my class why he damaged the costume.

In Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, children are encouraged to play naked and have "erotic play" together. There might be something to that.

In war and peace.... children are indoctrinated to kill each other

Never read Tolstoy. But in real life, in Nazi Germany, a group of Hitler Youth was sometimes divided into two groups and they were ordered to attack each other. No definite objective, no flag to capture, just charge and beat each other up. Clearly the only purpose of such an exercise would be to teach the boys to think of fighting as something normal.

Hitler Youth boys and BDM (HJ's female equivalent) girls were also sometimes placed in adjoining camps and encouraged to have sex. This practice was widely unpopular -- most Germans believed in traditional sexual morality. But from the POV of Nazi racial ideology it made perfect sense -- increasing the number of pureblood Germans in the world was a much more important consideration. Unwed mothers were called "the Fuehrer's brides." (Not that he paid them any child support.)

Wokeness is becoming a moot point. The mouse, the fox, the peacock, etc. need cheap electricity.

All he did was endorse with his signature the decision of the Citizens of Florida made through their representatives.

Maybe I’m thinking about this all wrong. By disallowing teachers to discuss gender issues it may allow young trans-kids and cross dressers to present in school however they want.

If I’d chosen to dress as a girl in 2nd grade like I wanted to, under this bill the teacher could not have said anything about it and still would have been required to provide a safe learning environment.

I could have used whichever bathroom I wanted.

“Hey Alex, you need to use the other restroom.”

“I do? Why?”

“Uh…er…oh. Never mind.”

What you believe is happening is in your own fantasyland. They do their job and you are just scared of gay people.

How bout just get over your irrational fears and leave children alone?
Lol, let's call it was it is and that's not "gay people."

It's [Lit banned word].

There will have to be evidence. You won't be able to do it on the kind of superstition the left loves to start with.
