Lol, there's a way this idea has merit. Hosting service in orbit. No laws whatsoever. Everything goes. It would be wild, it would be watched, but as long you don't download anything it could be kinda fun.

ETA: but while Elon might be your guy to launch it, he won't bother to build or manage it.

That would be amazing to see.......I bet it wouldn't make it 6 months before the authoritarians got so triggered they shot it down though.

He wanted section 230 removed. It effect, that would demand extreme censorship from everyone because all of a sudden I could sue Literotica for shit you said on this forum.

Ignoring this wild goalpost move, clearly because you were full of shit and can't show a single example of Trump trying to shut down a free speech platform.

Cite the press he tried to shut down.....removing belligerent members of the press doesn't count.

He wanted 230 protection for PUBLISHERS who censor their "platforms" to no longer be able to hide behind protections we afford actual free speech platforms or a "public square" as it were.

He didn't want Twitter/FB getting free speech protections if they weren't going to be free speech platforms.

And.....he has a point! IF they aren't going to behave like a public square, and censor opinons/views they don't like then why should they get public square protections/rules?? :confused:

Again, this is not quite but almost the exact opposite of him trying to take out a free speech platform, it's an example of him trying to defend it.

so now elon musk bought 9.2% of Twitter shares and has been appointed to the board, the fluttering hearts of trump-twerps everywhere started beating faster, in hope their demagogue would be reinstated. Disappointingly for them, it ain't so:
