It was inspirational in the first three weeks: The massive spontaneous demonstrations in Western countries, Georgia etc, Eastern Europe opening their doors widely to refugees, and so on.
But the more the war goes on, the weirder it gets. (and not just in the West, in many other countries too).
People competing on twitter over who's more touched or outraged by what's happening, Nancy Pelosi reading poetry, hashtags buy from us because we’ll donate 5% to Ukraine.
Some people are accused of promoting Russian propaganda and cancelled, for merely saying that Crimea used to belong to Russia. Even tho the same people condemned the invasion.
Other people are expressing their wokeness by saying the opposite: “Hmm… Look at how the West is treating blue-eyed Ukrainians versus how they treated Syrians and Afghanis (forgetting the fact that in certain Western countries, any Eastern European --blond or not-- was seen as genetically and culturally inferior).
And the weirdness continues, there are other examples..
