His wife was active in the push to overturn the 2020 election. He ought to recuse himself from any cases involving that mess that end up before SCOTUS. And you and I both know he won't.

She has a constitutional right to voice her belief. At the time there were inconsistencies that could possibly influence the outcome of certain swing states. To overturn an election does not mean overthrow the government.

It certainly doesn't mean Clarence Thomas has to recuse himself from anything. You lefty loons pulled that shit on Jeff Sessions during the Mueller investigation and got away with it, Dems can go pound sand.

Politically, it wouldn't be a bad idea for him to recuse himself. He rarely participates in questioning anyway, but I doubt, even if he had influence from his wife, it would matter in any ruling on the matter.

His wife is active in politics. She believed the crazy conspiracy theories. Justices and their spouses are allowed to have political views. You and I both know that.

Hunter is not a government employee. His father was Vice President and the president’s point person on Ukraine while Hunter was on the board of Burisma. Some of the same people who think Thomas should recuse himself from any cases involving 1/6 see nothing wrong with that.

I see another investigation into Hunter is warranted. But I believe it will continue to come up that his dealings were unethical but that they did not have any influence on US policy. Just as they did the last time it was investigated by the GOP led Congress.
 
AOC is an ignorant adolescent, she's seen as a thumb-sucking alien from outer space walking the halls of the House.
 
A flaw in our system is that the justices are trusted to police themselves, which only works when they're not totally dishonest and corrupt. The only check on them is impeachment, which is just not going to happen. Thomas can rule on cases that impact his wife, and no one will tell him he can't.

Nepotism is rarely ethical.

Ethics and illegalities aren't the same thing. And saying someone is compromised without evidence is called speculation

That being said...I think it's in Thomas's best interest to recuse himself.
