It's only been 2 weeks since the border reopened but I was presented with a think-quick opportunity for a free ride up to Singapore and took it. No great aim, just for shits and giggles. I did manage to renew my PR cards and documents so that was a bonus, apart from too many shoes and bits of lingerie shopping yesterday.
I stayed out on Sentosa for the night, so was quite lovely in the late afternoon watching out over the South China Sea and the passing ships, pools, and maybe one too many Singapore Slings. I did pick up a stupid swimsuit in the lobby shop - a pig on my bum, with ears, because why not be the pink piglet. I got the largest and just managed to squeeze in. If I squeeze and relax my bum cheeks the nose wrinkles.
I grabbed a random cami from a department store before heading out to the airport so I wouldn't have to wear a bra on the plane. Clearly built for another body type because mine just kept creeping up and out and were popping out for air the whole time.
Customs just looked at me strangely when I got back in last night because I was only gone 36 hours, especially after 2 years of closed borders. They ran my stuff through the scanner to see if I was a drug mule or something.

Singapore... I'd settle for a trip there. I second the opinion that we would love a shoe and lingerie show. Looks like the top purchase was a fail if you climb out the top of it.

The cone coffees are definitely on a timely schedule. I think i would have liked to have had it and then ask for a vanilla icecream in the same cone to be able to have a bit of the coffee flavour as well. Maybe next time when it gets a bit cooler about the place. I probably could have had 3 of them in the time of the shower.
It is a conservative blouse. A bit of pattern in it so works well on video calls. Plain satin colours tend to flare the screen when Zoom and Webex jump from thumbnail to larger speaking image. I did have to check I was buttoned up before each, otherwise there might be instant experts on my underwear.

I have some events coming up later this year that I’m experiencing some trepidation about. I think it stems from having COVID twice and being paranoid about getting it a third time.

Mask mandates are no longer a thing where I live, and I get a little anxious going out, despite the fact that I still mask up.

We have a mask mandate, vaccine mandates, and check-in requirement. Companies have a legal requirement to only have vaccinated workers on the premises which has been brilliant in taking away the challenges from those trying to evade their community responsibility. We are at 97% vacc over 12yo and 65% 5-11 yo, and the unvacced who didn't like the idea of MRNA taking up the protein based novavax in numbers, so good for them. Different economy, different spacing climate and lifestyle in this end of the isolated world than others so not apples for apples, but the statistics are proving a different experience to other states, so maybe...
No problem being the smart person in the room and masking up. I certainly prefer outdoor cafes and restaurants over mass indoor events at this point. Businesses have adapted to provide that service and are doing well out of it. Companies hold meetings in the beer gardens of pubs, so a win for all.

A couple of really hot days at the end of last week in the build up for the remnants of cyclone that was supposed to bring rain and storms here over the weekend and into the week. A few clouds and humidity but zero rain. I actually had to top up the pool, having turned off the filtered well water in anticipation of rain.

A local council has answered requests for a seasonal clothing optional beach and cafe on the river. It's only open during weekdays, after 9 and before 3, so aimed at the school drop off mums so they can have a bit of self time having a swim and a coffee in the sun. It was fairly well populated when I went there to see what it was like, perhaps 50 or 60 people there. A few babies, a few grandmas. It's a good initiative. Whatever keeps people happy.

I'm sure I have told you this before but swans over here are black. We ooh and ahh over white ones, which we don't see.

I felt a bit cheeky when challenged whether I was wearing anything under my jeans. Proof is in the pudding. A fairly easy bet as I am usually a certainty to wear something with jeans and not necessarily with dresses, but it was a couldn't be bothered wearing any day. Loose tops around the house on hot days have the armhole factor. You are going to get an eyeful, or one overboard out the side.

If you wake up with almost period boobs then you are best to wear a bra that makes the most of them.

We're in our Spring here with coolish nights and cool to moderate days.

Nothing preventing men from being there. I think overall people would rather be down at the beach though, and the opening hours are probably more conducive to a larger number of women than perhaps men. You don't have to be nude, it is optional, although in practise it is 99%. Some women leave their bikini bottoms on and are just topless. Legally you can do that in a park around here if you so wanted but you might find it more comfortable in a defined space with others. My personal preference is to be in and out of the water rather than laying in the sun so the beach will still be my place but kudos to that local council for listening to their people and coming up with places.

No I just like the saying "a black swan event" and laughing at the reality of how that must have looked to early settlers. There used to be a couple in a pond at the international terminal at the airport and all the arrivals would duly pull their cameras out and take black swan photos, only to give up after a few days!

It seems a state by state thing in the US, although I'd say proportionally a lot more nudist resorts than we would see here. A bit like New York, it is illegal here to enforce tops on for women if the same requirement is not made on men. That an equality rule under the highest set of laws so is not challenge-able by conservative councils or areas. Clothing optional areas are a state by state ruling. Queensland as a state doesn't have official ones but have a set of beaches which are not enforced by local government. NSW is pretty proactive, as is WA and SA. Victoria seems to be going backwards and getting rid of a few. There will always be odd occasion moron who think they will try something stupid they have seen in porn videos and there will always be the locals who will chase them off quick smart.
In this climate, cool and airy is good so plenty of loose tops. We don't worry about too much in this house

Not specifically for mums, but practically used by a lot so far, and the times hint at it. I think covid restrictions opened up a lot of eyes in local government. You can find yourself being under all sorts of restrictions for the general good of all but outside of your control. The flipside is why be restrictive unnecessarily on what people ask for if you have the space and resources. The whole show could get closed down if dickheads turn up and ruin it for all, but as above, the beach is more likely to be the place for most. You have 9km of clothing optional beach not 10km from the city centre, so plenty of room for everyone. There have always been boobs out on the river foreshore, you can just take your pants off as well if that's your way.
