How can I interact with my readers directly?

I want to contact members who Favorite/Reading List one of my stories to thank them.

Also, I'd love to know what people who favorite my stories would like to read about--because I'd love to write it for them.

How can I best communicate with these readers and invite them to give me their feedback, especially?

When you go to your author's home page, you should get notifications of every comment, every person who's decided to follow you and every story being added to a favorites or reading list.

Yes, but when I try to send them a message through the Contact portal, the contact portal does not send the message. How do I communicate with these readers?

Some readers have that feature turned off. I suppose you could post a public appeal for readers to unlock their PMs.

I think it's a technical question I'm asking. Because I clicked on the Contact portal for some, and for some it displayed an alert that the member did not have the 'receive message' feature enabled. However, after I sent a bunch of messages successfully, now every member whom I click on the Contact portal--including the one for Literotica itself--it allows me to set up the message, verify the captcha, and then it displays an error alert: "message could not be sent."

Did my earlier message sending, doing so many in a row to reach readers who favorited my work, trip some filter that is now preventing me from sending any messages? Because now I can't sent messages to anyone!

Technical issue or not your post here sounds an awful like a desire to spam. Read back through your post here a few times, think about it.

Just because someone has messages enabled means they desire incoming uninvited, especially "doing so many in a row to reach readers".

Maybe there have been complaints about your activity.

It's trying to engage with my readers, people who have signaled they like the work. I want to give them more of what they like!

I'm not trying to reach out to anyone and everyone, just the ones who signaled me that this is stuff they connect with.

Seriously, just stop, it is spamming.

Write a forward or pin a comment asking if people would like updates to reach out to you first. State in advance what they are likely to receive if they contact you. Request that they click follow.

Even if I had left a favourable comment I certainly would be totally creeped out by an author "doing so many in a row to reach readers". I would not go back, I would block them and maybe report them. I would cancel "following".

If you want to engage with them, then write another story they may like.

Look, you keep assigning motives to me that I don't have. I know this is a fiction website but, c'mon.

I do "so many in a row" because trying to reach out to my readers--reach out to anyone--is a very difficult thing for me. And working up the energy to process a lot of emails, to do a lot of emails in a row, is the only way I was able to work up the energy/time to try to communicate with my readership. For all I know, sending *any* ten messages in a row is what triggers some stop on my account. I wasn't even able to message the Literotica mailbox to ask this question because of this! As I think I already said above.

(By the way: you still haven't answered that same, simple question I asked here)

Your reaction to an author saying "thanks for liking the story" and trying to show appreciation to readership . . . I don't understand that. I love talking with people about work that they love and connect with. That's me and what I'm trying to do. As I said to you privately, "I'm just a writer trying to improve my craft and reach my audience." I thought Literotica is a place where an author can really find and reach their audience.

Isn't it?

didn't I?

It appears your desire for validation is way beyond your desire to gift. I would think that must be highly consuming and possibly interfere with your concentration on writing.

As for your private message to me I deleted it before reading. You did not ask if it OK to send through a pm and I certainly did not invite you to do so.

Common courtesy and politeness is far more likely to open doors, badgering will close them.

Read back through your messages in this thread - how would you react if it were your neighbourhood plumber or mechanic being so insistent?

To be honest if I saw your username appear in the story section I would now run a mile.

No, you didn't. Here it is:

But to your other point, actually, yes, those people contact me exactly as you are describing.
I went to the doctor today, and then after the visit, I received the text message survey from the doctor asking about the visit. I get these surveys by text message after every plumber and mechanic in my neighborhood. This is standard these days, right on my phone.

Read back through your messages in this thread--you'll find that your nasty, unfriendly tone, throwing around insults just because you enjoy typing them

And saying whatever because I did not obey your internet etiquette--yeah, not a good look. I thought we're all friends here? This is a friendly site for stories, right?

Anyway, I've already started using these posts of yours in my work. Because I have to do my daily words, and your attitude was so baffling, I decided to put all of your posts and my replies into a story, and I've already gotten 2,500 words into an ongoing piece, thanks to the jump-start your negativity gave. Fun stuff! That's why I love being a writer, the things it reveals about people.

Hey, looked to see if you had any stories but it says no? Nothing? Not even a loving wives?
