More of a general question since I have noticed that my stories posted in other sites sometimes have readers coming in from Literotica (or so I have been told). Would it make sense to post non erotica stories on here for readers? Has anyone here tried it? How did it turn out?

I post in the non-erotic category with good results.

Not to sound like a suck-up, but I would highly recommend following the link to _Lynn_'s submissions. Her non-erotic stories are among the most beautiful I have read on this site. They have done well, but deservedly so. Understand that in the absence of sexual content you will be expected to be a more accomplished writer.

I'm starting to prefer writing NE and feel I can stretch myself more as a writer with different styles and content. Having to contrive yet another sex scene is a chore that often gets in the way of the natural flow of a story.

Some writers at Lit obviously work entirely the opposite way and the challenge for them is to hang enough of a story around the sex to make it a story, not simply a list of rude words. Those stories have a purpose but to be fair there are many good writers who manage to balance sex and story very effectively... I guess it's just a struggle I have!

Like now, I had to ask a Lit friend how to move from a scene I'm writing into the couple having sex. I would have had them chatting amicably all morning :D

Reminds me of the old joke, "What's a four-letter word, ending in 'K' for intercourse between a man and a woman? No! It's 'Talk,' you pig!"

Thanks, Lexx. I appreciate your comments. :rose:

I have an account that posts only nonerotic, mostly inspirational, stories. It does well.

You go ahead and post something non-erotic.
Sometimes we get really good writing there.

I have a bunch of non-erotic stories here in the Sci-Fi category and the non-erotic category. My Sci-Fi stuff does pretty well as do my non-erotic cat stories.

I have posted a few nonerotic stories and have had good results and ratings. They are still romantic or have themes related to my other work, and have characters from my other series.

I have several NE stories here posted in various categories. No problem at all. In fact, readers comment that there is no sex and they still liked the story. Categories include LW by the way.
