Question regarding story ratings

Hi all, i'm brand new to the site but i've been writing for a few years now, been recommended this site and i figured it would be suitable as my writing is rather lude! I did have a question regarding the story ratings, my first chapter of Sweet Venom has been rated a few times and currently shows as 4/6 - What on earth does this mean? I can't piece it together in my mind, does that mean 6 people have rated it 4 stars?

As I understand it you have an average score of 4 from 6 ratings

Yes, it is good until the 1* vultures inevitably swoop in to sabotage your score because they have nothing better to do. It is more a challenge to have enough 4 or 5 star votes to offset those bombs.

I've seen it continue to happen on the chapters I published of VY. The automated site process removes 1-2 votes as part of a scheduled sweep, and miraculously a few hours later the 1* bombs are right back.
