Just my thoughts on the new look here.................I didn't like it when it came out a month ago as an option......Now that this has now become the new platform, it SUCKS to no end......where are my subscribed threads........? My Friends ..... ? Not a lot of thought went into this as to how the people who visit the site would navigate. What is your thoughts on the new platform?

I'm ancient with visual problems. The new version (both of them) are very hard for me to see unless I enlarge them to at least 150%.

I'm gradually finding my way around but I'm too old to like change.

The changes were surprising and it's always a bit upsetting when one can't find things where they are expected. But a little poking around and my "old friends" were found - like subscribed threads being renamed watched threads, and so on. I've found some nice additions too, like being able to save drafts of posts before they are posted. That will be handy when I want to check that new message that comes in while I'm writing one (yes, it happens, frequently). I like that my replies to messages are collected now together with the original message (no more going to the Sent Messages folder to find them). There were parts of the old version that I didn't like and I'm sure so parts of this will take a bit of getting used to. The more I use it the more familiar it is becoming and the more the "lit experience" is getting back to normal.

Because when I'm reading a new message I like to know if the person who sent it is on line right now and might respond more immediately to my reply.

I haven't toyed with it much and I kinda find it ugly. But the ability to 'Shift+space' to post is a time saver that should have happened decades back. I mostly see people who are okay are people who haven't been here very long though.

So, lets see... Subscribed threads are now called Watched Threads and are in the dropdown list at the top of the page. Click on the triangle beside the word Forums you'll see it in the list.

Click on your name at the top of the page, your friends should be under Following.

I know that for a lot of you change is frightening but when you first came to Lit you had learn who to navigate the forums also. So just look around, click on things, see what they do or what they show. It's not like you're changing jobs or anything as difficult as that.
