I continue to support President Biden.

President Biden lost popularity because he dealt with two intractable problems that lacked easy or obvious solutions.

The first was the War in Afghanistan. The fact that the Taliban could survive for twenty years demonstrated that it had popular support in Afghanistan. We could have remained in Afghanistan for another four years. The courageous decision was to leave immediately, get it over with, and take the consequences.

The second was COVID-19. Republicans try to have it both ways. First, they oppose efforts to fight the pandemic, such as vaccinations and the use of face masks. Then they blame Biden for the people who continue to be infected and killed by the virus.

When I voted for Joe Biden I did not expect him to work miracles. I expected him to make difficult decisions, and to demonstrate the gravitas so lacking in Trump. From Biden I have received what I voted for.
