Yep, we have labor laws in my part of the country to prohibit this....so they can focus on getting an education and so abuse doesn't take place.

You are not an outlier...I have had more conversations this past year with little old ladies getting guns, not to protect themselves from govt, but from right wing and GOP extremists, than in my entire life.

OMG!!! People might make their kids do something other than play video games ad beat off on the hub all day.

They might even learn some level of personal responsibility and financial literacy before saddling themselves with 6 figures of debt for a PhD in feminist theory.

Pretty much. The problem is that many of the jobs that youth used to do to pick up some extra bucks and learn responsibility are now filled by adults who think manning the drive-up window at MickyD's should be a career path.
