Inflation hits 7.5%

It hasn't been that high in 40 years!

This President is achieving goals that others have failed to meet...

Is there any doubt that Orange Man Bad is responsible for this lagging indicator?

As President Obama opined, "It takes a long time to turn an aircraft carrier around!
"I never realized just how bad things were left for me."

It took him eight long years and a new administration before we were headed into the wind.

There can be no doubt now, Biden must have a second term.

;) ;)

I know what will make a difference, keeping with a nautical theme!

A McCain Mutiny against the Republican efforts to take the helm...

Not a good look for any administration.

And the far left is pushing on the student loan forgiveness stuff, for some reason....which is odd.

I'm interested to see how the Fed responds.

The Fed

They are out of options.

The only thing they can do is hunker down.

:(

I paid off my student loans so I have no sympathy there.

If the "student body" was gullible enough to believe that college is their right of passage,
then let them adult up and live up to the responsibilities of that passage.
Next they'll be looking for auto-loan relief...

Rate hikes ain't the answer.

the answer is OPEN DRILLING everywhere and LOWER oil and gas prices

and inflation falls by more then half overnight

That cannot be done before the midterms; it would depress the vote...

The hapless Republicans cannot suppress the vote like that if they wanted to.

Even if they employ a bunch of New Black Panthers with clubs to police the polling sites...

;) ;)

The biggest supply-chain fuckup at the moment is the idiotic trucker protest blocking highways.

It's actually much higher as food and energy costs are not included in their calculus.

How are unemployment and the stock market?

It's funny when you guys conveniently forget your main talking points about the economy.

“Eight years!” LOLOL! Like Fake Fraudulent DEMENTIA JOE, everything Oblunder touched turned to shit. He was the worst POTUS EVER until BiDim was “installed!”

Unemployment is low because it only counts people looking for a job. The labor participation rate is about 64% - historically low. There are 10 million fewer people working now, than before covid. I suspect the covid killed those 10 million people. We are very lucky to still be here to talk about this.

And, based on studies I've seen, do it without harming small businesses or the entry-level jobs market.

I can vouch for that. I've worked in startups where paying a decent wage was both feasible and just plain good business. Most business leaders who say they can't afford to pay decent wages really just don't want to. Any business that really cannot has much bigger problems than would be solved by allowing slave wages.

Stop tarnishing their silver lining.

They think they found a peanut in the turd.
Let them eat it and enjoy it.

A living wage law would likely bring that number way up.

A living wage law is a very highly subjective thing.

There is a helluva lot of difference in the cost of living in
Manhattan, New York and Manhattan, Kansas.

This is one of those perfect examples of why pipe-dream
one-size-fits-all federalized solutions would be detrimental
to the economy. Wherever you decide to settle upon a
"living wage" you pick a winner and you create losers,
and most likely, there will be no winners, only losers...

This is why the Soviet experiment failed but
free markets keep chugging along.

The best way to bring about "living wages" would be
through expedients such as shutting off the spigot of
cheap, illegal labor which undercuts American citizens
looking to earn entry-level wages as they enter the
job market for the first time. Why hire an educated
young person when you can get an uneducated adult
who is hiding in the shadows, terrified of being found out...?
