I’ve never actually thought of British coins as pretty, but now you’ve got me curious about Canadian coins!
I used to collect coins when I was a kid, I think I had some Canadian ones, but I’m not sureI’ll have to google them if no one is offering pictures!

You both have pretty coins compared to our American coins. They've gotten boring and ugly. The gold dollars are about the closest thing to "pretty" anymore.
We have a lot of Loonie ($1), Toonie ($2), and quarter variants that are really well designed![]()
I hate the new notes. They stick together and I have to keep rubbing them to get them to part. If you accidentally put one in the washing machine and then the tumble dryer, they shrink. Worst of all, you can’t write on them anymore. How am I supposed to pass my number to the cute guy in the coffee shop if I can’t write it on the money?I remember showing the new notes we have here to an American litster I was close to. He said “it’s not fair - your money is pretty! So colourful!” He was right, I hadn’t thought about it before.
Hmm do you have special edition coins like we get here on 50p?
Talk to him???I hate the new notes. They stick together and I have to keep rubbing them to get them to part. If you accidentally put one in the washing machine and then the tumble dryer, they shrink.
