The problem with the thread title is that COVID isn't over and never will be while many in the US refuse to be vaccinated. Only then will it become endemic rather than a pandemic. But it will NEVER go away.

It was 70%. As we approached 70%, it was, "oh no, we meant three jabs". Then the science says natural immunity counts too. But not for herd immunity. The only thing that counts is (now) three jabs. Tomorrow it will be four.
With vaccine and natural immunity, the US is well over 90%. We are more protected against covid than any disease in history. So we start calling other things covid and "OH NOES!!!! we are all going to die again!!!"
