The firearm buying frenzy continued into 2021 as nearly 5.5 million Americans became first-time gun owners, reports the Washington Examiner. Notably, sales expanded among women, black, Asian, and Hispanic Americans.

The president of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), Joe Bartozzi, said, “The surveys revealed that new gun owners are continuing to embrace their Second Amendment rights, and nearly half of them are seeking out professional training.”

NSSF reported in its annual Firearm Retailer Survey that, in 2021, more than one-third of first-time gun buyers were women, 44% of firearm retailers saw an increase in sales to African-Americans, 40% saw an increase in sales to Hispanic Americans, and more than 27% increased sales to Asian Americans.

Few things drive people to buy guns like the fear that they might not be able to at some point in the near future. So, Biden reaffirming his commitment to banning some of the most popular guns, ironically, resulted in a substantial increase of firearm sales across the country.

Something similar happened when Obama was elected.

In hindsight, it was an extremely stupid reaction. Nobody bought anything they could not have bought eight years later.

Why do you insist on posting the stupidest shit imaginable and then compound the stupidity by trying to defend that stupid shit?

How am I wrong?

It seems like this kind of buying spree always happens when a Dem takes the WH. And it's always stupid.

Doesn't mean the left hasn't attempted to ban thing and has been successful in the past.

Freedom loving Americans move to keep you control freak Karen types in check. :D

Not any serious attempts. Hell nothing the majority of Americans don't want. We aren't genocidal psychos.

Only after a mass shooting -- and even then it only ever seems to be directed at "assault weapons," and the whole thing degenerates into a pointless and meaningless debate over what counts as one.

Most gunshot deaths in America, of course, involve handguns. But nobody ever seems to propose doing anything about those.

I even remember a few years ago, there were protests against a local program to buy guns and destroy them -- as if maintaining the number of weapons on the market were somehow a 2A right.

That's because they know they don't have the majority to do anything about it.

Neither are people who support civil rights.

That's because of the irrational obsession the left has with them.

Exactly, that would be rational and logical....but also RACIST!!!! :D

So (D)ipshits ignore it and go "But the scary looking stuff!!!"

No that's because 1A is a right .

It's good that people are buying guns. But it's bad because its making them hard to find. Good luck finding a Henry to buy!

And ammo is scarce as hen's teeth.

And ammo is scarce as hen's teeth.

So are primers, powder, and bullets. Reloading components have reached the 'virtually non-existent' stage.

The only ammo I have for my 30-30 is what's on the shoulder strap.

For some reason, my area is awash in 9mm Luger though. Maybe because handguns aren't as popular here as deer rifles are.

Their being allowed to protest the buyback program adds no reason to the content of the protest.

Doesn't matter, their right to protest is protected by 1A, not 2A.

Not GOP logic, leftist lies.

Actual GOP logic: The right to defend oneself is inherent, the right for you to come take my shit is not, pay for your own shit.

Someone needs to tell that kid to get her fuckin' finger off the god damn trigger.

Depends where you live. State law in CA has changed considerably since Obama took office. The semi automatic you could buy in 2009 are not the same as what you can buy today.

I have to admit I’ve considered buying one. I live in upper middle to middle class suburbia and heard semi-automatic gunfire one weekday afternoon. Likely just some kid who found his daddy’s stash and decided to show off to his friends, but it was somewhat disturbing.

But maybe I will do a moat with some blood-thirsty sea creatures and high walls… if the HOA approves my drawing

How did you know it was semi-automatic gunfire?

Another Philly carjacker gets tables turned on him

Police said a 39-year-old pizza delivery driver was in the 3300 block of H Street in the Kensington neighborhood just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday when an armed carjacker approached him, WXTF-TV reported.

Then the suspect allegedly pointed a gun at the delivery driver and demanded his car, police told the station.

But the driver wasn't about to become a victim — and had a different kind of delivery up his sleeve.

Because at that moment the driver pulled out his own gun and fired multiple rounds at the suspected carjacker, authorities told WXTF. According to WPVI-TV, the driver hit the suspect six times.

The VERY FIRST THING I saw.

Which tells me that the ad is nothing more than D propaganda, created, cast, and produced by dipshits without a clue or care on the subject they are trying to make a political statement about.
