But you're thinking just might be dumb, might not fly with readers, and might somehow not meet the rules.

I've pondered a Warhammer 40k erotic story, but given the grimdark setting, I'm not entirely sure how well it'd do.

I'm not even sure if that would go in Sci-fi/Fantasy or Fanfiction. I'd be more inclined to try if it fell into the former, rather than the latter.

What are some of your examples of ideas you passed on because you weren't sure they'd fly?

I've got a very rough and loose outline about characters playing a role-playing campaign (Deadlands: Hell on Earth) where I'd bounce back and forth between real life and the events in the game. It's mainly a time issue right now, but then again isn't it always?

I have a mother/son piece that keeps resurfacing in my head. I think it would be a great story, but two issues. One, it would be a longish piece because the son is around thirty, and the situation with his mother started when he was 18( of course, and although not a fan of underage, I find it far more plausible it starts a little younger than that, but whatever) so there's a lot of flash backs covering 12 years of dysfunctional sex and emotions.

But mainly the mother is much younger than the father, she's a neglected trophy wife who is now home with her son while the husband is banging the next younger version of her, and is an alcoholic, so her seduction of the son is twisted to begin with, and the son knows its wrong etc

Bottom line its going to be a darker piece, and I even started a thread about it a few months ago about ideas you resist writing. I just don't feel I'm in the place to write a grimmer piece because it takes me to my own dark places and sometimes I can handle it, other times not so much.

The story isn't worth screwing with myself over.

In general, and to my last post I've had several incest ideas which the 18 rule makes too ridiculous for me to write-BTW the 18 rule exists on pay platforms as well except they actually enforce it consistently and fairly there-and I can't write something where I'm rolling my eyes constantly that "yeah, this happens at 19/18"

My take on taboo is in real life when things happen between siblings-and its more common than a lot of people want to think-its going to happen at a young experimental age. The classic curiosity game of show me yours...etc...its not going to happen at 18+ when odds are the brother/sister have had sex outside the house, or if not sex, some form of sex-oral, hand, heavy petting, and dated and at that point they're experienced enough they're not looking at their sibling that way.

Of course I've written many sibs stories where it all happens at 18+ and its a challenge to come up with a why, so it helps creativity, but I do sometimes get the urge to do it with them younger-not like pre teen young, but the 15-16 range. But seeing there is no where to market any of that, I'd be writing for myself, and that's a waste of time.

I got mostly time issues.

I've got two premises for genre porn novels - one a first-person detective story about a porn actress who gets into investigating a death in her estranged family, and another that's a science fiction thing that I want to cram full of old-fashioned 1950s rocket-ship and robot stuff but is mainly a wealthy woman, a member of the power elite, dealing with having a prosthetic transplant to repair brain damage.

The personality/memory base matrix the implant was taken from a "donor" about whom the designers knew a great deal less than they thought.

So many. I don't even know where to start.

I like extending my imagination into erotic fantasy places I don't normally go. For example, I want to write a gay male story. What a fun challenge. My own personal fantasies don't go there, but I have what I think is a good story idea in that category. It's going to take a while to make it plausible.

I've got an idea for a virtual reality erotic thriller that I want to write eventually, but it's probably going to be a while. The concept is that there is a race against time to rescue someone whose consciousness is trapped in an erotic fantasy virtual reality world before a secret of incalculable value is extracted from him. The person sent into the VR world to save him experiences many strange and erotic experiences while trying to rescue him.

Same here. My list has about 80 raw ideas, only outlined by some paragraphs, and 80 stories which I started to write, but stopped somewhere in the process. Maybe half of those I hope to write on and complete one fine day. Problem is, the list expands every week...

Now this sounds exremely interesting and promising. Please do it!
