And anotheer one bites the dust ....

never was a fan of 'meatloaf', never knew his true character as a man, but it would appear his death was down to his own poor choices. I feel sad for those mourning him but have nothing for the loss of him other than i wish he'd have made those better choices. No one likes to watch their loved one struggle with a terrible illness that then takes their life.

Meat Loaf was ‘seriously ill’ with COVID days before his death: report

The singer and actor, real name Michael Lee Aday, had been outspoken about COVID, specifically railing against vaccine mandates, TMZ said.

People be boohooing over a dead fat phuck.

Fuggem I say.

His name was Marvin, BTW, not Michael.

RIP to one of the greatest R&R performers, ever. His work with Jim Steinmen was second to none.

Yes, sad for his family, but probably will not be regarded as "the day the music died".

I wasn't a fan, but his album "Bat Out Of Hell" sold 30 million copies. So he did have numbers.

We all have our opinions on things, and sometimes they end up being wrong. Such is the case often times with anti-vaxers.

Who on this site has been correct 100% of the time???

Unfortunately, it is their families that must grieve from the loss. "It rains on both the just and the unjust".

You won't hear me bashing the dead, but then; I got integrity.

Bat Out of Hell is one of the best-selling albums of all time, having sold over 43 million copies worldwide.

GeeGolly, the Turd's Wrong again.

This from "Song Facts"

"Bat Out Of Hell went on to sell about 30 million copies (give or take a few million depending on whose accounting you believe), but when it was released, its success was anything but a given. Meat Loaf was a very obscure artist and the album was unconventional, with nothing that sounded like a standard radio hit. This break in convention ended up distinguishing the album and prompting the huge sales figures."

Once again, JaFo jumps to conclusions. It wasn't my error, if it was an error.

That's why I wasn't sure.:)

I think I saw it on AXS TV, but there's a series on classic albums that the channel has, and BooH was one. It's amazing how this amazing LP almost didn't get made and then almost didn't get released.

IIRC, the original "Paradise" female singer went to Broadway and wasn't available for the tour, so they hired the one we see in the video, so still belts it out. She'd have to to keep up with The Loaf's voice.

Eh, maybe he figured, "Hey, I'm a fat guy in my 70s; I've already beaten the odds." He hasn't looked healthy for a while, to be honest. But as for why he or anyone would refuse a fairly simple way to (in almost all cases) prevent an unpleasant death from a contagious disease, you can take the Loaf out of Texas but you can't take the Texas out of the Loaf.

People who know me are familiar with my dislike of Jim Steinman's bombastic approach to music, but Meal Loaf was the person who could successfully pull off those hysterically overblown lyrics.

Thi evening's main BBC news had an obituary of MeatLoaf, with some of his hits and tributes from stars who had worked with him.

There was no mention of how he died, what of, and the word covid wasn't mentioned at all - just a straight obituary of a very significant artist.

He also had some severe back problems that gave him chronic pain, so I wonder if maybe he didn't fight too hard at the end?
