So, I don’t know who the gifted green thumbs or plant killers are here in the PG.;)

At one time I had some productive gardens, but then life interrupted and so it goes.:)

Now I’m getting back into growing sprouts and microgreens in the house and planning on having some container gardens going this spring. Who else on here is at this stage or further along the gardening path? Is this Playground worthy or just a timewaster?

Hey tnman03, I think the General Board would be a little more appropriate. However, since you're here, my wife use to grow sprouts and we loved them. Then, as with you, life got in the way and now we too are starting it again, especially since you can't buy any produce worth a damn in the grocery stores.

As far as container gardening, we've had some decent success with Earth Boxes (http://earthbox.com). They're especially good for patios, decks or porches. Self-contained, with a built-in water reservoir that you can fill from the top.

Hope this will help. Stay safe and healthy! :D

I've grown microgreens... celery in particular is gorgeous in s cheese sandwich.

I've also grown a lot of veggies in containers

IDKA the GB being a good place for much other than virtual ass-kickings. :D
Thanks for the link, I'll look at that one.

I used to grow a lot of sprouts for sandwich and salad toppings.

As someone who can kill a cactus, I’m following for some tips

That'd be both of us, I've had the best luck gardening with other people who kept me out of trouble.

ha! totally agree about GB.. it's a risk but you might find some takers..

I grow micro greens in shallow trays near a window using these hydromat things.. It's pretty easy and if I ever need a break or have a bad "harvest," I turn to Market Wagon (local growers)

Have fun!

I'm using mason jars and a covered plastic growth tray that I just bought.
