Out of control charter flight ...denies passengers flight home

But but but...FREEDOM! Don't the airlines understand that means freedom from personal responsibility for one's actions, at least if you're white?

Best impression of BoBo so far this year. Spot on. Well done.

Funny how you believe in personal responsibility when it suits you. GTFOH. You all didn't believe in personal responsibility and giving businesses the right to decide whether they wanted to be open or not during the early days of Covid.

Are you joking, or did you really miss the point that badly?

The point is that you all are a bunch of hypocrites. You all don't believe in personal responsibility. You do so conveniently in situations like this when it suits you.

Yep, he missed the point...more likely doesn't.like the point.

"Freedom to infect" is not a personal responsibility.

In the early days of Covid the only thing we knew is that it was spreadable by close contact with other human beings. Society as a whole it was in the best interest of the general public to lock down to flatten the curve.

An analogy would be blackout restrictions in World War 2: People were required to turn exterior lights off to make larger urban areas less visible to the Nazis. This was personal sacrifice for the greater good as well, but I'm sure the Queerbaits and BoBos of that era chattered incessantly about loss of "freedumb".

Of course we believe in personal responsibility. What we do NOT believe in is using it as a code word for "screw the disenfranchised", which is almost always how the right uses it. Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime. Tell a man to go learn to fish on his own dime and if he hasn't got a dime, tough shit...in that case, maybe personal responsibility, although certainly desireable, is not really the problem.

Straw man and a really bad one. Find me one person who has made such an argument. I'll wait.

No it wasn't. Those decisions were made with incomplete information and fear. We saw first hadn't why that was a bad idea. We ruined people's lives and the virus is still around.

Terrible analogy. We were forced into that the first few weeks and it didn't work. Yet sociopaths hell bent on having more say over you and I continue to push restrictions that don't work. For some reason you keep agreeing with them. I should have figured. Anyone that uses the word "freedumb" isn't very bright and incapable of a serious debate.

BS. That's the argument from the left to justify more government overreach.

You were stopped to think how your government overreach in the name of "safety" and "protecting the public" creates those tough shit scenarios?

How wonderfully euphemistic. Do you mean seatbelt laws? Or clean water and food regulations? I'm guessing not, but then you don't say what you do mean.

It's a good analogy: In both cases the general public were asked to temporarily make a small sacrifice (Lights at night/public gatherings) for the greater safety of society.

Haha, ain't that the truth! You gotta wonder what was going through their heads when they thought everything would just magically work out. Getting stuck in Mexico because of a wild charter flight gone wrong? That's a whole new level of "oops" right there. But hey, let's talk about flights for a sec. People think hiring a private jet is gonna cost them an arm and a leg, but it's not always the case. I remember when we organized a trip and booked a Fort Lauderdale private jet. Splitting the cost among a group made it way more affordable than you'd think. So, next time you're planning a getaway, don't rule out the idea of flying private.
