Sidney Poitier, beloved legend and first black best actor Oscar winner, dead at 94

I wonder if he and Betty White ever worked together.

Maybe they're colab'ing right now.

One of the classiest actors the World has ever seen.
And he came from a poor, uneducated Black family from the islands.

Compared to him, the current British Royals look so ...unsophisticated and ordinary...

Great actor and all round decent bloke. I might just watch In the Heat of the Night in his honour.

R.I.P, Mr. Poitier :rose:

never met a film of yours i didn't learn from

:D

and as for the 4-5 class conscioussness-rising movies he starred in
no mention of the White folks who wrote or produced them

The thread is about Sidney Poitier. If you would like to see a thread celebrating white writers and producers, you should create one.

Seriously, don't bother engaging with the supposedly permabanned Dishrag. He's a racist moron that sucks up to the right wing posters because they're the only ones that don't call him a cunt.

As for the quinoa munching middleclass liberals who live in reassuringly expensive suburbs where the underprivileged are never likely to buy homes - yet who like to push the social inclusion agenda...

My irony was directed at butters,
you virtue-signalling White bovines.

My first post about SP shows that I'm anything But a racist.

you learn from Hollywood?

If you can't learn something that came out of Hollywood then you are watching nothing but comedies and horror films. Try watching The Tuskeegee Airmen, The Flyboys, and U571 for starters. They are all history based.

So is once upon a time in Hollywood.
