Unfortunately, even when naively may seem good idea, death penalty is unusable in practice due to inherent uncertainty of proof of guilt. My personal stance is that death penalty should be on the books and dealt as seem fit, but never executed, being in practice life sentence on special strict rules including theoretic chance to be killed anytime. To definitely hold up the last, maybe there should be 50% chance each year to execute one random convict on the death row.

In any event, life in prison seems appropriate to me in these circumstances.

The reason they said they went after this guy was because there were supposedly a bunch of break-ins in the area, but were there? Does anyone know if any houses were broken into? The only thing I confirmed was that a gun was stolen from a car in January.

Were there even break ins? Or was that just a rumor?
