I'm posting this thread to officially kick off the "2022 Literotica Geek Pride Story Event”. Laurel will be creating the Event Page shortly - and submissions can be sent in between May 15th and May 24th, with a Wednesday May 25th Go Live Date. That's MONTHS AWAY. Plenty of time for you to write something!

And for 2022, as for 2021, there WILL be a link to the event from the Literotica Home Page - an unfortunate oversight in 2020.

This thread is to SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE authors to enter stories in the 2022 Literotica Geek Pride Story Event. If you have questions, post them here and someone will answer. It might be me, it might be someone else here but don't be shy. Ask.

Here on Literotica, in recognition of Geek Pride Day, one of our fellow writers, PuckIt, organized the inaugural Literotica Geek Pride Day Story Event on May 25th, 2018. This was such a popular event with writers and readers last year that we ran it again in 2019, 2020, and 2021, and we’re enthusiastically running it again for 2022!

Yours truly has volunteered once again to kick the Geek Day Event off and at least try and answer any questions. (Although I may plead for help if the answers to the questions are beyond me).

The 25th of May was first organized as Geek Pride Day in 2006 by the Spanish blogger Germán Martínez (known online as Señor Buebo). Since then, Geek Pride Day has slowly gained international recognition (in certain Geek circles) and we on Literotica want to do our bit to continue to celebrate Geek Pride.

So let your freak flag fly! Write a story for Literotica’s 2022 Geek Pride Day Story Event.

Let the Force guide your fingers. Start writing! This is an OPEN TO ANYONE event - it's not “by invitation only." This isn’t a competition. There’s no placing. There’s no prizes. This is for the sheer joy of writing alongside a bunch of other Literotica writers. This is for anyone on Literotica who would like to try it out. You don't have to have written anything before to write for this event. First time writers and veteran Literoticans alike are all invited and encouraged to participate.

The Rules are actually really simple
1. Have an awesome idea with some kind of geeky theme. Sci-Fi or Fantasy is the most likely category, but if you want to get geeky in any other category, you go for it!
3. Any geeky subject, any category, any length you like. But please, only stand-alone stories (if you want to clarify that, just ask right here in this Official Support Thread).
4. Author must copy and paste the phrase "2022 Literotica Geek Pride Story Event " in the "Notes" field of the submission. We recommend that you COPY & PASTE it into the NOTES field to avoid typos.
6. Please use “Geek Pride” as a story tag.
7. All entries to be submitted by 11:59pm, May 24th - with a Go Live Date of Wednesday May 25th. You can submit any time between May 16th and May 24th. All stories will be posted on Wednesday May 25th.

That’s it.

So what are you waiting for? Start writing?

Lastly, a special thank-you to PuckIt for originating this very fun story event back in 2018, and to Laurel, Manu, and Literotica for hosting.

Always fun, the range of stories and writer-talent are breathtaking.

Lol… Months away?

Nouh said that about the “Tales of Leinyere”, and I’m still writing days away from the go date.

I’ve been working on an idea for quite a while. Originally it was completely implausible, but now it’s just outlandish.

Hopefully I’ll piece it together in time.

Hmmm. Can I get that one-fifth started sequel to my angel and astronaut story written in time?

First part, 2018; second part...

I feel ya as slow as I write, notice I haven't got one approved yet, it may take .....:)

Do you think a high school Stage Crew member who dreams of being a Musketeer, complete with sword fighting and rope-swinging, might count as geeky?

One paragraph of when he's fifteen and LARPing it in his bedroom using a broken car antenna as a rapier would sell it, I think (saving the damsel, of course).

Damn, Valentine was going to be my last event story here. But I've had three sci-fi stories in my idea folder for years. Every time I open that folder the little bastards chant, "Pick me, pick me, pick me!"

One could even befuddle the readers in LW. Hmmm...

Ugh! I've been doing a geeky story for awhile now. Maybe I'll try to come up with a "one shot" side story.

Chloe, thanks for the info; I'm really looking forward to this though I don't have a clue for the event yet.

The story I wrote for the 2021 Geek Pride event, "My Math Problem," is one of my best and one of my most read stories on this site.

That's great - I'm working on outlining my one when I need a break for the stuff I'm writing now.

I have a really good idea for this event. A computer that falls in love and lust with a woman. And vice versa. Elements of "Her" and Kurt Vonnegut's short story "Epicac," but with more sex.

I just have to write it, though. That's the rub.

Already? I swear I just finished the last one...

My story was simply a bunch of Engineering students being geeky and using mainframe computers for instant messaging to organise their social lives, resulting in a First Time story. It went down well.

So many stories I'm writing atm... but they almost invariably have intelligent geeky people in them, so one may resolve in time for this...

If you haven't, look up the '80s movie "Electric Dreams."

Kicking my story along. Never thought I'd have to go back and relearn statistics, especially for a fuck story!

That sounds like the early 80's movie "Electric Dreams" or the newer version "Free Guy".

I wasn't going to focus much writing here anymore, due to lack of views and rating so poorly. But my Pink Orchid story is viewed well enough. So, I'll see how an idea for the Geek stories plays out.

It's something my wife told me about writing instructions for her on all the tech crap I have around the house. It's sounding a little dry (at 5,400 words so far), but something I think geeks will appreciate. So, I'll write for the niche audience.
