Article. Summarized:

1. GOP's gerrymandering-pocalypse is a dud

2. Democratic governors — who may be what save us in 2024 —look strong in 2022

3. The Senate map looks good for Democrats

4. Republicans are putting up a vomit-inducing set of candidates this cycle

5. The pandemic may finally dissipate

6. The Supreme Court may awake a sleeping giant

Regarding #5, I think Omicron may be a blessing in disguise. Of course, the Deplorables will whine and kvetch about Fauci and his shifting CDC guidelines, and about Biden not ending the pandemic as quickly as he originally thought, but Omicron is helping to compensate for the fact that so many people refused to get vaccinated.

Omicron will result in suffering by innocents who were not eligible to get vaccinated because they were too young, but overall, it appears to be less damaging to the lungs than Delta, while at the same time accelerating immune response in the unvaccinated because of its high transmissibility.

Thanks, Biden and Fauci, for doing your best to protect our health care workers as we go into our third year of the pandemic. You guys are doing an admirable job of ignoring the assholes and focusing on finding the right balance between public health measures and keeping society functioning.

It's good to have grown-ups in charge.

Just the fact you accept salon as anything but a rag make you delusional and divorced from reality.

Failure to anticipate Omicron spread and delay production of test kits is just another example of his total incompetence. Now teachers unions want kids tested before coming back to class and yet Biden dropped the ball on test kits, there aren’t any, way to go Brandon. LMFAO :D

The pandemic doesn't seem to be slowing down, but other than that this seem to be good for the Dems despite what the Republicans may think. If the republicans want to win anything they got to stop propping up some of the crazy loud mouth ones like Taylor Green who is hurting their image.

The Dems would have a better chance also if the voting rights bills that's been getting stalled lately finally get passed.

What the article says about that:

Fox News and Republican leaders convinced their voters to reject vaccines and draw the pandemic out as long as possible to hurt Biden and the Democrats. By offering themselves up to the virus, Republicans kept case and death rates up at a steady clip, sowing malaise that led directly to Biden's declining approval numbers.

Then omicron started to wash over the country like a tidal wave, infecting hundreds of thousands of people a day. People are now getting infected at higher rates than they are getting their first vaccine. That sucks, but the silver lining is that all those unvaccinated Republicans are now getting their inoculations the hard way. Building immunity through infection ain't ideal, but it still works. There's a very real chance that the pandemic is mostly in the rearview mirror next fall, and Democrats reap the rewards of getting us through this crisis.

We might be fucked as in America on a damn near complete lock down from the rest of the world. Our people aren't sheep, they are wolves. 30% of the pack are standing on thin ice and keep going out farther when someone asks if they need help. However packs stay together, we can't just leave them. And believe I would if I could.

Just the fact you accept salon as anything but a rag make you delusional and divorced from reality.

You don't have to like their opinions, but they have an excellent record on factual accuracy. And I note that you don't even try to refute any of the points the article makes.

What I have taken note of is the magnitude and scope of (D) retirements...

That and the all-important polling numbers of the Independents.
They might have turned on Trump, but now it would seem
that buyer's remorse has begun to set in...

Especially with the Kamala "cackle" factor.

So a little research turned up this;

Salon

Ole Peckersniff hasn't had an original thought since it's been here.

Defiantly scours the interwebs for confirmation bias links he can then pass off as authoritative.

As long as CNN, MSNBC, NYT and Salon say it's true,
then clearly 2022 is going to be a Democrat landslide,
verification of Biden policy, AOC acumen and (D)-love!

Both parties will lose voters. One will lose more.

Unfortunately it's pretty much proven that outrage is sole best voter motivator. That's by great part what the American political discourse problem is.

Democrats should worry about discipline of their voters more than anything else.

It's much easier when you can just make shit up to fear monger your voters.

Yup. How easy and profitable it is to defraud the so-called conservatives is mind boggling and actually terrifying.

Peck doesn't just whistle past the graveyard he forms up the Philharmonic and conducts a symphony in front of the gates.

Whatever.

Americans in 2022 should vote like it was the last free elections ever, because it easily can be.

Everything depends on whether or not most whites who are not rich think they are better off in November 2022 than they were when Trump left office.

If there is a long hot summer of black ghetto riots, the Republicans will win.
