A new coronavirus vaccine heading to India was developed by a small team in Texas.
It expects nothing in return.

“We’re not trying to make money,” said Peter Hotez of the Texas Children’s Hospital’s
Center for Vaccine Development.

“We just want to see people get vaccinated.”

Unlike the vaccines of big-name manufacturers such as Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna,
the Texas Children’s Hospital vaccine, which is called Corbevax, is being shared patent-free

While a company representative declined to discuss the price per dose, Indian media
has reported that it may be as low as $2.50 — which would make Corbevax
not only the cheapest coronavirus vaccine in India but one of the cheapest
in the world.

Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine announced today
that CORBEVAX™, a protein sub-unit COVID-19 Vaccine, whose technology
was created and engineered at its Center for Vaccine Development (CVD),
has received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA)


This "old school" coronavirus vaccine has been developed by Prof. Peter Hotez
co-director of Texas Children's Hospitals Center for Vaccine Development
and the dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College
of Medicine, along with his longtime collaborator Maria Elena Bottazzi.


The scientist duo is already in discussions with the World Health Organization
(WHO) for vaccine approvals to vaccinate developing and under-vaccinated world.

"Biological E has started the discussions with the World Health Organization.
We have been in some discussions as well. We want to make this as widely available
as possible, especially to people who live in poverty," Prof Hotez told ANI in a virtual
interview.

I heard they submitted final paperwork for EUA last week.

My question would be how many people will end up taking this one who have refused to get the other and why.

I'm assuming it will be "testing", which would be technically incorrect, but from a visual timeline layman perspective, seems correct.

I guess the "why" might have something to do with skepticism about mRNA, though if those vaccines were dramatically unsafe, I assume it might have shown up in the first 10 billion or so jabs.

Yah, BiDudey me tioned a misconception the other day which I think is a huge reason...people actually believe the vaccines change your DNA. When you believe shit like that, nothing will change your mind
