Something we can put our defense budget dollars to work on. In the process, we might be able to identify the insurrectionists who are in the armed forces and weed them out at the same time.

Most of the insurrectionist from the January 2021 coup attempt should be tied up with their court cases at that time or already in prison.

Could go a lot of ways.

But if they were smart and looking to be efficient and effective they would work with the WH and take control of the media/internet.

If you mean "what next" as far as how the county is re-established/rebuilt at that point is up to which side successfully wins.

If a Leftist group took over DC and deemed it an autonomous zone, then the Dems would hand wring and talk about how it was an expression of freedom and love and they'd politely ask the people there to leave until the group lost cohesion and abandoned the area after spray-painting and looting everything. The Library of Congress would by this time have burned to the ground and sledgehammer gangs would have hammered their way to the Constitution, which would have been used as toilet paper in front of CNN cameras. The media would cover it in patriotic terms, ignoring the rapes, extortion, destruction of historical content and murders that took place inside of it. No one would really need to be prosecuted.

If the group that took it over was right wing, then the Dems would call it a civil war, and the police would treat them like a terrorists. They'd use tear gas and snipers to kill anything that moves. Police would drag anyone they could into the middle of a police beatdown circle. The Right Wingers would likely protect the Constitution and the historical monuments. When it was all over, the group would be demonized as literally Hitler, racists and homophobes and general bad bad dogs, and every year we'd all have a moment of silence commemorating the brave action of our noble police forces that exterminated the right wing insurrection. Everyone who was in the group would be prosecuted.

I'm definitely interested in the what next aspect if an insurrection was successful....how would this new group run the country? Would they be able to? Or would it be more like most of the examples in History....mass joblessness, mass starvation, lack of goods and services being available, economic disruption on a massive scale?

It wouldn't take 2 weeks. I estimate 72 hours before their private guards turn on them before surrendering. "Millions" is a lot more than most people think it is. Faced with a determined and very angry mob made up of "millions", the army/police/NG don't stand a chance. They'll steam roller right over them even if the armed forces have tanks, bombs and nukes.


BTW, anyone who believes that US military or police won't fire on civilians needs to go back and read the news about how Australian police did just that a few months ago. When you're in uniform and you're given an order, you execute that order. No questions asked and no backtalk given. Why? Because if it's a lawful order, you're covered. If it's not a lawful order, then you're toast only if your side loses. When you're given an order like that, you do your best to ensure your side comes out the winner.
