It should be legal to shoot out their tires and plaster their car
with Buy American and Buy Union bumper stickers!

I'd be nice about it though and be sure to
add some sugar to their gas tank.

I'm a real sweetie...

I have two Volvos, after having had six before. Mine usually last until 300,000 miles, much longer than any British made cars (except Rolls-Royce of course).

My current ones? One is on 210,000 and the other is just approaching 100,000 - nicely run in.

The worst piece of shit my parents ever had for a car was a '69 Volvo coupe. How bad was it? So bad that they traded it for a Pinto and that was an upgrade. Seriously.

There was this Volvo I saw at a school once. Parents dropping off kids. The plate said STIL HIP.

It should have said NEVR HIP.

I know that people love them, but . . . .

Trevanian has a character that abuses his Volvo and kicks dents into it,
but despite his best neglect, the thing just won't die...

:)

Shibumi, I think.

You don't see many of them here in God's Country. I recall seeing one last winter. It was diesel so what caught my eye was the dirty ass-end.

It's not a real popular model here either.

There might be a dealership up in St. Louie.

I wanted a square body wagon, but Volvos were always too expensive. After the purchase, they keep being money pits with expensive parts.

Where I live, it’s BMW and Mercedes country. Everyone has one and it is no longer any sort of status symbol.

If I'm going to judge drivers for their choice of car, it's Audi all the way.

Locally all Audi drivers appear to be shits who think they own the road and won't give way to anything except a very large truck.

It used to be Red Ford Cortina drivers and then BMW drivers. Now? Audis.

I worked with a guy that drove a Volvo. It was constantly filled with fast food wrappers, diapers, work papers, dirty clothes and crap. We called it the rolling commode. In the event of a crash he would surely survive the impact but die in a firey french fry grease fire. :)

Volvos are safer than most automobiles of a similar size. They are proud of the fact that so far, no one has died in a Volvo XC90. By European standards they are enormous tanks.

Make a better product and people will buy it. Americans make great trucks. The F-150 and Silverado are great vehicles with great reliability. Cars, not so much.

My jeep Commander can kick the shit out any xc90, fords latest attempt at a 4x4. jeep though is the abbreviation for Just Empty Every Pocket. commander was discontinued though by fiat who declared it as being unfit for humans, possibly the same fiat who sell the Fiat 500.

Most folks who haul their toys about have Ford, Chevy, Dodge, or Toyota (Tundra) pick-ups in these parts. Those are also the vehicles that we see upside down in the median on the highway, when it's slippery out.

I had a lot of fun in a GF's Volvo a very long time ago. And, though it was only 2wd with an open differential, it got around great in the snow, too.

Maybe. But is it as safe as a Volvo?

no idea tbh. could smash into one and find out though. did a suzuki swift in last year when the driver tried to cut me off at traffic lights.

I used to have an ancient much-modified heavy Wolseley. An idiot pulled out in front of me and I hit the brakes. I had four-wheel disks and a servo.

The other idiot following too close behind in a Ford 100E ran into the back of me. His engine and gearbox hit the deck and his rear wheels and axle went behind his car. It was a write-off. I had a small scratch on my bumper.

A cousin had a Mark 1 Landrover. Its bumpers had been replaced by lengths of railway track. He lost it on black ice. His bumper demolished twenty-five feet of roadside railings. He drove away.

I drive a very large truck. :D
