what would jesus do?

never understood that fuckers appeal. he's always come off as a sleazy used car dealer type. i thought he was destined to be a dim memory from my youth, but he just refuses to fuck off and die.

Must be the same inexplicable appeal to an Evangelical that Donald Trump has.

Jesus would give up, get horribly killed, and wait for a higher power to sort out the problem.

He's really a crappy role model.

Oh, yes, that's another thing about WWJD. There's a passage in the Gospels where an apostle comes in and says, "Jesus, the tax collector is here!" Jesus says, "Go to the lake and catch a fish -- there will be a coin inside it -- pay the man." Point being, Jesus didn't even carry money around -- if he needed some, he had to work a miracle. He was an itinerant preacher, not even gainfully employed as a carpenter after he began his ministry, not charging money for healings or exorcisms, living entirely on donations and hospitality. He never lived in a mansion.

Jesus made me do it....the best and one of the oldest scams around.

A sucker is born every minute...and these scammers prey on them.

Millions of believers want to do something for Jesus . . . and sending money to a televangelist is an easy and convenient thing to do.

It's not even implausible. After all, a house of worship has expenses, but produces no marketable goods -- so every church depends on donations, and every worshipper thinks putting something into the collection plate is a thing worth doing.

Messiah In our midst

Obama’s apostles are hard to dismiss. Oprah simply calls him “The One,” because “we need politicians who know how to be the truth.” (Jesus says in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth …”) Oprah goes on to say Obama will help us “evolve to a higher plane,” which would put Obama in the role of our Intelligent Designer.

According to the New York Times, Obama’s volunteers are taught to eschew discussions of the issues and instead “testify” about how they “came to Obama.”

And then there’s the Gospel according to Obama himself. In January, he told Dartmouth students that they will know to vote for him because “… a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Barack.”
