John Fund has published a book, "Our Broken Elections", about election integrity in the USA. Here is an interview he gave on the subject:

Fund makes a number of points, including how other nations with a history of democratic elections, insist on voter ID. He also describes how the Obama administration took positive steps to undermine movements that came out of the Bush Gore presidential election to reign in election fraud. Oh, I'm sure it is merely a coincidence that lack of voter ID almost certainly benefits the Democrat Party. Whether or not it serves the interested of good government is irrelevant to those people.
Another point that he articulates is that while the right to vote is important in a democracy, so is the right that a legal voter has to not have his or her vote cancelled out by a fraudulent one. Fund describes how New York City politicians actually attempted to thwart efforts to expose fraudulent voting..
I would go so far as to claim that Democrats- and it is overwhelming Democrats- to not want to implement measures like voter ID to ensure election integrity because they realize that voter fraud benefits them at the polls. And that is only of of a number of very troubling signs in American democracy. I love the USA, but I fear for the future of my grandchildren in it. Honest elections are something that all Americans should support.
