I logged on the new CP twice today submitting new stories. After doing what I planned to do, I clicked on the 'Forum' option in the CP as usual to come see what's happening. Every since the new CP went live, I've been accessing the Forum that way. However, the new screen I'm routed to shows the Forum but requires me to log-in again in order to access the Forum.

Anyone else experiencing this? Wondering why the change if I'm already logged on?

there are separate logi-ins for the story side and the forums. Also the forums have been having a problem with it showing up as http instead of https.

Thanks Tx. I've noticed the http and that's one reason I'm not fond of logging in on the Forum side. Ever since the new CP came online I have simply pulled down the "Explore" tab and clicked on the Forum tab — and presto, I'm here. Very strange to suddenly change.

They have had some problems of late over on the story side and have been trying to get things fixed. Just set yourself up a separate log-in with the s added.

That's how it's worked for me forever.

Try logging into the story side first

If you log in at the story side first, the login never expires (shh, it’s ultimately not an ideal security practice). Once in you can stay logged on.

It can vary a bit. Some but not all browsers if you use stealth/privacy mode on some platforms interfere.

Since yesterday afternoon, the login from the story site has not persisted across to the forum. For the first time in a year or so, I've had to actively login to the forum.

This is not happening to me. I haven't had to manually log in anywhere at Literotica for about a year or so. I remember some issues sometime around then.

I log in via a Chrome browser on a Windows desktop system. I navigate to the Stories and Pics page, and I'm automatically logged in, and I'm logged in when I go from there to My Home or to LIterotica Forums.

Request - what browser and platform? Pc, Mac, iPhone, android, etc. And version

Final thing to try, click the forum link at the bottom of any story page to force the forum to be in the same tab that you were in. (I realize you may be doing that already). Once, I accidentally clicked log off on the forum side, but remained logged in on the story side: that approach worked.

The version could also be a factor. Although tech glitches are almost always Lit’s :cool:fault, there’s a chance something else (a browser update) is responsible this time. That could *possibly* explain different experiences.

I normally log in to the story side and my home page then open https://forum.literotica.com and I'm logged into the forums on entry. This morning I was not automatically logged into the forum. Adding to that, I went away to drink coffee and read the newspaper (yes, we still get the newspaper), and when I came back, I was no longer logged in to the forum.

I don't know whether to count those as problems, improvements, or just benign changes.

Fails for me still on Android/Chrome and Mac/Opera. That the issue hit both simultaneously suggests a change at Literotica.

Thanks for all of the input. Sounds like I'm not alone. After reading all the comments, I thought that the problem might be because I do use a stealthy browser and also have Ad Block Plus, No Script and Ghostery apps. I checked and it's probably the Gostery app blocking a Google tracker. I could allow the tracker, but fuck Google! I'll just log in twice — first at my CP and then again to read the news here … all with the Google spyware hopefully blocked.

@yukon, I use the DuckDuckGo web browser (it’s a thing. ). It also blocks google tracking, so it’s probably not specifically google tracking facilitating the login.

Hopefully you all with the problem aren’t a sign of impending doom for the rest of us, in this respect.

I've used DuckDuckGo pretty much since it came out. Didn't recall that it blocks that specific tracker. Seems like; 'There's something happening here. What it is ain't exactly clear...'

Let us hope we are not all doomed!

It says it does. To be fair, it’s not the most bug free piece of software engineering I’ve ever seen either. ;-)

Every day I click the link in my browser, I use Brave a chromium browser that doesn't keep track of your tracks or anything, and I am presented with the Lit front page. I click on Bulletin Board and I'm always logged in, unless the Lit server has been reset for some reason.

I also use duckduckgo I find that it tells me the truth more often than Google does.

Well, I've about had it! I log in on the new CP, I choose to visit the Main Lit Forums - I get a second login requirement. Once inside the Discussion Board, I happen to compose a reply on a thread — then, after hitting Submit Reply, I get another login page telling me I'm not authorized to access this page

I've enjoyed Lit for more than 14 years and I'm starting to think enough is enough. This glitch only started happening recently, nothings changed on my end. It's simply not worth the effort to keep logging in for every step I take.

So this may be my last post (if I can even post it without logging in again). The other option is to just submit my stories and avoid the Discussion Board altogether.

You rang? I know something about Doom.

I have not experienced any of the issues you are experiencing. It may have something to do with the system or software or writing platform you are using. Be patient. You've been here too long to give up because of annoying glitches and delays. I'm sure there is a solution.

Yeh, I calmed down  I've come to the same conclusion that it is something with my computer apps. I may be using too many privacy tools. At the worst it's just an annoyance. I'm here more to have a place to post my stories — but Lit's also my only social app. Thanks for the encouragement.

Yep. Doomed. I decided to stay away for a few days, Burned down my browsing history, and had to reinstall duck duck go to truly get rid of all history, and now I’m not automatically logged in on the forum side when I first log in on the story side. Far more severe, the “stay logged on indefinitely” also is gone on the forum side. It’s either a site change or a byproduct of an apple update. I tried a different browser as a sanity check too.

I can see this ending with a lot less time frittered away here. But that’s probably a good thing. For any of the regulars here, if we really counted the hours we spend here, I suspect I would not be alone in re-evaluating my life choices.

Edit: something I never had to do before, but it’s fine, is now I have to log in on the forum side as well as the story side and I have to click “keep me logged in” or whatever it says on the forum side of n order to remain logged in more than a short period of time (less than an hour.)

I’m still reevaluating the frittering factor though.
