What do you think about pity sex? Has anyone tried it?

By pity sex, I mean having sex with someone not because you want to, but because that person needs it.

I have a little experience in this field. I met a nice man who was suffering from Down Syndrome. He was nice, and I assure you that his behavior wasn't childish at all. He was a mature and responsible man. I noticed that he clearly wants to have sex with me, despite he tried to hide it. Perhaps he felt he is not good enough for any woman, and believed women will reject harshly if he tries.

I wasn't into him sexually, but I felt sorry for him, and wanted to change his way of thinking. I opened up to him and we ended up having sex. He was actually good at it, so good that I decided to stay with him a while!

Have you ever tried something like this?

I think that I may have been the beneficiary once or twice...

... or three times...

I wouldn't mind having pity sex but my partner should be honest about it. For me it would just be a reason like many others to have sex when it is not out of love. When it is consensual for both it is ok.

It's your choice, simple as that. I presume once you'd had sex you were able to stop pitying him and realise he just needs extra help and consideration? Life is difficult enough without drawing a genetic short straw that condemns your entire life in the eyes of regular people.

I can't think I have, but it's too easy to feel sorry for men in general

He has Down's. You suffer from cancer or covid.
He might suffer from some connected health issues, He almost certainly suffers from an ablist society, but he has Down's.

Aside from that, I think you're on morally questionable ground here.
Whenever there's a power imbalance, you have to think very carefully about your actions.
Boss/employee , Dr/patient, Teacher/ student, Large age gap, Etc.
Does his intellectual disability, and your lack of intellectual disability, create a power imbalance? Reverse the genders and consider the same scenario.

Well said. Based on their past posts, there was a large age gap. They have stirred up this drama more than once. I am not sure why they are doing it again unless they are looking to promote their story published here.

I'd never noticed this poster before. But, after checking it's post history, I agree.

Guaranteed in reality the genders WERE reversed between the OP and his victim.

Pathetic.

I hear it's like pizza. :)

I'm not doing anything again. I started a thread about a year ago and I raised another question: Is a relationship with a person with learning disability some kind of abuse?

This thread is not about that. Now I'm not asking that again. If anyone is interested about that topic, then there is no reason to write about it here. I didn't even mentioned the name of my story. Even back then it didn't stirred up any drama either, it lead to a productive discussion.

In this thread I asked people about what they think about having sex with someone not because they want it, but because that person needs it.

If you don't have anything to say, you don't have to stay here and accuse other people.

I agree about the term. Perhaps the term "suffering" wasn't appropriate, but I think people understand what I was trying to say.

But I don't agree about the questionable ground here. Why do you even compare my relationship with that man (or pity sex in general) to Boss/employee , Dr/patient, Teacher/ student, etc?

It's just one person who needs sex and another who is willing to satisfy that need without being interested sexually.

If we reverse the genders, nothing changes either, unless you believe in some kind of patriarchy and see women as incapable of deciding about their own bodies.

thanks!

How did you arrive at this conclusion? Did you even checked the thread in question? If you had and you were honest, there was no way you hadn't noticed that thread was about a completely different question.

I wasn't tedious before and you took part in the discussion, but someone says something unrelated and suddenly I become tedious?

I'm not desperate for anyone's attention. I started this thread for a serious discussion, and I don't want any attention from the people who are not interested in the topic.

You attack and insult someone you don't know sadistically, but also accuse that person of being a predator? Who is the real predator here?
