Because clearly there aren't enough good cops in this area to be concerned with, and whatever amount there are can reapply and hopefully be returned to the force and not screwed by their so called brothers.

The defunding, which was just a reduction not an elimination was to be part of future budgets not something that had already happened. So these police men instead of working harder to prove they are worth the money spent on them keeping the community safe but might even qualify if not for more money for individuals more money ifor more officers. I do think if we ever got back to a world where cops were part of the community things would be better.

As for good appearing bad I think like almost every argument people bring up that happens less often than we pretend it does. I do in fact support police being given leeway that civilians are not, with the flip side being if you are so wrong in your behavior that a jury finds you guilty your sentence should be higher than that of a civillian in a similar situation. You had training specifically to avoid this getting this bad.

Its actually both as I pointed out. We know how many fatal police shootings happen in any given year. If 1% of those were wrongful We would be putting away multiple cops per day. But we don't and people camera phones are showing it constantly.

So if you want to be like the climate deniers go on a head. ignore the facts.
