Apparently Tommy Silverstein passed away in 2019.
With everything thats been going on I missed it.
Tommy was the longest held federal prisoner in solitary confinement and the poster child for abolishing federal prisons.
Tommy was psychologically abused to a level few humans alive have suffered. He was confined for decades in a tiny cement cell with a bare light bulb burning day and night, no view of the outside world, and a "no human contact" order on his cell.
Yet Tommy maintained his dignity and even forgave his captors.
