so, i got a free table today.

like i need more crap, but hey! it was free. it's a piece of custom furniture, the top is about 2 1/2 feet wide and the base is shaped like )(, only more rounded. it has a fake finish on it made to look like travertine and it is white. it needs one very small repair and repainted and if i move as planned, i have a spot for it.
i have to repaint it. should i make it white again (boring!)? i'm open to suggestions. i thought of spray painting it metallic silver but even i think that sounds tacky. i'm limited to paint because i'm not going to invest a lot of time or money in something i'm not even sure i'll keep.

or should i just donate it to st. vincent depaul and forget it?

it's crap wood, yellow pine. that's probably one of the reasons it was textured and painted. and i hate refinished furniture anyway, i'd rather see the wear on a piece. i used to have a friend who would say, "if something looks like it was thrown out of a second story window and dragged down the street, THEN you want it."

With yellow pine, I would use a nice oak stain.
It compliments and classes up the wood.
