So sez their Student Body President, Lamar Richards. And, for once, I think I agree with the statement.
See, on Nov 4, the trustees of the University voted down a resolution that said:
"The University shall not discriminate against or grant preferential treatment to an individual, group or company on the basis of race, sex, color or ethnicity."
Why would such a reasonable proposal be shot down, if not for the desire to do the opposite, i.e. discriminate against A to prefer B?
There is this unintentionally hilarious bit in the article:
Kotis told The College Fix that he was compelled to bring forth the anti-discrimination resolution in part because of a “memo from Dean Susan King that discussed lowering admissions standards for the School of Journalism and essentially bypassing equal opportunity legislation.”
I'm sure everyone out there is thinking what I am: Lower journalistic standards are exactly what we need these days.
