50 Years Of Apocalyptic Climate Bullshit

The population is now 7.9 billion. Predictions of Malthusian disaster failed because of improvements in farming -- which might have limits.

It failed because Professor Paul Ehrlich was an alarmist completely out of touch with reality, like most of the rabid environmentalist and doomsday movement.

Yes, I know there's a lot involved. The thing is that it's been harder to predict be ause of our lack of knowledge about our oceans.

The few studies I’ve read on climate change and thermohaline circulation have concluded there’s a low probability of shutdown, and warming trends will generally be more significant than ocean-related cooling due to weakened circulation. But still, it’s a significant modeling problem.

We've been lied to for a half a century. The apocalypse has been just around the corner for 50 years. The end of the World has been coming for 2000 years. It will eventually get here, so keep talking and put that fervor in your will as well, so that your progeny can labor on with the same predictions of impending doom on into the future.

This crisis is well underway and much less dramatic at the moment than covid...and that is changing.

The most significant sign that it is here to stay is already being seen in the water crisis in the west and south west.
I'll check back with you when water restriction (mandates) start to occur...no doubt you will blame Dems for the lack of water.

When millions of folks wake up to the inability to sell their homes because they don't have water....I wonder what you will say?
What happens next? How do they move, leave, get compensation for it or not? How ever it plays out it will be a huge crisis in many ways and it has begun already.

Two years ago a town the size of mine, with a population of about 30,000 burned to the ground in 6 hours....hmmm, I guess to some that is just their problem. What happens when LA start to burn uncontrollably? Is that not a crisis related to climate that was unthinkable just a decade ago...now it is a real issue.

The slower crisis will be with food and food products....we are on the verge of a pollinator collapse. Does 40% or so collapse of crops that feed people and livestock(beef) and the resulting food scarcity scare you? It should....you and all your neighbors are armed and if they don't get food or water will they just sit there and wait for help that may not come....or will they begin to take what they need?

Stop. None of what is going on with the climate is man made. If for instance people in L.A. run out of water it will be because of the fact that democrats in California have allowed expansion to exceed the surrounding natural resources and have done nothing to build new dams and technology for the collection of water or the conversion of sea water to meet those shortages. The same can be said of electrical energy, sun and wind isn't going to get it. They did that to themselves. The Climate didn't do it.

Except it is and has been shown time and time again with scientific evidence.

So your argument is based on fallacy.

That is a weak argument. Prolonged cyclical droughts are part of the environmental history of the West and Southwest. This is known from tree ring analysis initiated to explain the collapse of the Anasazi culture. All of this was way before fossil fuels were part of human civilization.

I agree that more can always be done to plan for water and energy needs and man made climate change is 100% factual.

I've given this example before....cities, any city, is a man made structure that alters climate. Cities are hotter, on average anywhere between 5 and 10 degrees hotter, year round due to the lack of trees and all the man made structures made of bricks, black top, concrete. Meteorological events are more extreme on the leward side of every city and this has been measured and a part of meteorological date since cities have been in existence. Cities are a small scale example of what the sum of all human activities can and do create.

Leaf drop and die back along the east coast is now two to four weeks behind what it was in 1990. We still have all our leaves here in Pa and they re just changing...it used to be 3rd week in October or about that time. Why is leaf drop and dormancy important? If you didn't know this you should....all life on this planet is made possible by green plants/shrubs/trees taking sunlight and converting it into useable energy for all other creatures....if we loose this...we are toast.

Photosynthesizing plants have evolved in certain places over millions of years of evolution. Ah, yes, evolution....what conservative folks deny due to their religious beliefs. It is not possible for these long evolved creatures to just up and move to a better location that works for them. Again, if they fail...we are toast and this planet will decend into a type of chaos never seen before.

Huh, I read somewhere that 97% of relevant scientists are in agreement that anthropomorphic climate change is legit.

Droughts are expanding.

Not just that area.

It is not a weak argument...in Kenosha, did people decide to take what they need when they didn't get it? (rightly or wrongly...though I don't think it matters)

In All these places....they were not always Dem. Controlled? Some today are not Dem controlled? Wrong guide is more correct.....lack of planning for both population expansion and also human impacts on resources(the planet is our resource...is it not?)

California already has water shortage problems. After a century of abnormally wet winters, the state’s weather patterns are returning to historic norms. At the same time, the population has grown exponentially. Water supplies have not kept pace. Capture, storage, distribution, and conservation policies have been woefully inadequate. The same is true with fire mitigation policies. Democrats have dominated the state legislature for decades. So yes, they are being blamed and deservedly so.

Dems don't control the south west.

And you are correct about much.... California is a desert from Midway down and it has been terra-formed into something else. Too many folks and also it is the a produce.powerhouse which puts all of us at risk since it requires water from great distances to be functioning.

So, how does one control population? This is a Constitutional Democracy after all? Y
One can't force population control like in China(which didn't do as they planned and that is a valuable lesson).

How do you all suggest to control population without draconian measures from Govt?

I’m not suggesting population control. I’m suggesting smart water policies to keep up with population and economic growth, and sensible land use planning, zoning, insurance policies, and building codes to mitigate wild fire risk.

I agree in general....but, what does this look like specifically? It's clear that the problem is big and apparent. The specifics of the solution are another matter.

It’s not one thing. WRT waters, dams, canals, tunnels, underground storage, desalination plants, water rights law, rate setting and treatment plants are just a few things that are part of the mix off the top of my head. We elect legislators and governors to anticipate and solve problems. They are failing on multiple fronts in CA.

The politician, the shopkeeper, a carny, the reporter, and the thief (may be the same person).

With his left hand he moves the shell with the pea while the right hand keeps you fascinated with erratic motions that no one could track.

Climate change may or may not be total fallacy, but humans screwing up planet Earth sure isn't. There's a ton of junk in the oceans, garbage everywhere, almost all "open" land is actually dotted with human stuff, not even enough place for the deer to roam so we have to shoot more of their delicious meaty bodies. Overfishing? Lack of fresh water? It's all coming down.

But I dunno nothing about no climate. I really don't. I know that when there are two sides taking opposites on any issue, the truth is probably more complex and the shopkeeper is laughing as he steals.

So what you're telling me here is that you don't even have a loose understanding of the science. Perhaps you should read up.

The hottest day on earth in history was on July 10, 1913 in Death Valley, CA. None of which, either then or now, was caused by man.

We know that isn't true, the hottest. Officially the hotest day was in Tunsia in 1931. And even that isn't a fair measurement since we should be looking at an average of the globe not some freak location.

Literally NONE of it happened! So tired of all the lying about “climate change!” It’s bullshit!

Can you name ONE that didn't happen? Cus I'm starting to think you don't actualy understand how the science here works.
