Voter Fraud in the Virginia Election!

Kind of significant if the candidate's son tries to commit voter fraud.

It's certainly going to come up the next time the lieutenant governor of Texas declares he'll pay up to $1 million for proof of voter fraud. :D

It's sort of a trump :)D) card in hand ready to be played very publicly. It already seems to matter, since it's in the morning Post.

But if he had used mail-in ballots they would have been counted.

Or if he had used a drive-in voting station.

Or if he had voted in a different district.

Or if he had a fake ID.

Or if he was a student, or in the military, or living on a reservation…

His thought about doing it came from being in a Republican family.

An attempted fraud of the voting system--twice.

Didn't attempt fraud at all. Went to the voting place, gave them his ID, was told no. That's not fraud, not even close.

The irony, of course, is that he was denied because VA asks for ID. In a no-ID state, it may well have worked.

Name any state that allows underage voters.

Does that apply outside of Texas?

If it does, I'll try voting twice.

Yep, attempted fraud. He knew he was 17. You can't vote in Virginia at 17.

I believe in needing photo ID (I have been a voting official and have a lot of stories about that issue). I also believe in making sure everyone who can register is helped to get ID, if they can't do it on their own.

Pretend all you want. This is a media gold for the Democrats. :) It's now reached the "first story" on my computer news feed.

Oof, some truly terrible takes here. Look, I get it, y'all are old phogies recalling 'back in my day, sonny...' but times, they are a changing. The push to lower the voting age to 16 is real, and several municipalities, including mine, have done so. Further, a 17yo can vote in the primary in VA, provided they'll be 18 by the general election. While some trumpet this adjustments as improving the breadth of our democracy, others (like me) wonder if the disparate rules end up confusing kids.

Fraud noun wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.

He made no attempt, none at all, not even the slightest attempt to deceive. He presented himself as himself, with his ID. I'm sorry for your loss, really I am, but this isn't fraud.

Thanks for shedding light on this. Even the left-leaning Guardian confirms your account. The lad did not misrepresent himself or attempt to deceive anyone.

Kind of “significant” if a Kenyan born, gay, mulatto illegally ran for POTUS “twice,” isn’t it?

Who is that?

And what would being gay or being mulatto have to do with the qualifications to run?

Congrats on being irrelevant to the issue. ;)

The Republican candidate's own son tried to engage in voter fraud in the Virginia elections. That's the story. It's still sitting high on my computer news feed today.

Well, no. None of that would be illegal, even if it happened, but it didn't. Tell me, did you have a good time standing out on the roadside to take in the meeting between Trump and JFK Jr. the other day? :D

Your post is a fail at distracting from the Republican gubernatorial candidate's son in the recent Virginia elections attempting election fraud--twice, a story still running high in my daily computer news feed today. :D

So the Guardian article is inaccurate? I would not be surprised if that’s the case but I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt unless other news sources are reporting what happened differently.

He represented himself as eligible to vote twice--a second time after it having been defined to that he wasn't the first time. There's a phrase for this. It's called attempted voter fraud.

Did you hear the one about the Republican candidate's son in Virginia who attempted to commit voter fraud--twice--in the election in which his father won? The Republican like to claim there's fraud going on in the elections, and here's one for them right here. Funny how it always turns out to have been committed by a Trumper.

It's a lot of fun to see the board Trumpettes squeal like little piggies on this one. :)

are kids so dumb they find that so confusing? that you need to be 18 by the general election to be voter-eligible for primaries? it's not exactly difficult  if it's so confusing, perhaps a better standard of education (forget 'perhaps' since youngkin campaigned on blocking something in the curriculum that's not even taught in their schools and people bit) is something to fight for rather than getting books banned that refer to america's darker moments in history.

he could have asked his own father.

he presented himself to vote and was told he was not eligible, despite his arguing that he should be allowed to vote.

he returned a short time later to insist he be allowed to vote, even though he'd been informed he was ineligible.

so is he dumb? did he think his name got him instant voting-credit? is he just an entitled little shit or a kid being fed disinformation by republican voices till he believed he truly was able to vote?

IF (perhaps) a non-democratic, trump-leaning republican had handled his first attempt, they may have even allowed him to... which would have amounted to an illegal vote and would likely have got spotted and eliminated as the process played out.

i'd like to know what happened with youngkin's 'watchers' as this young man tried to make an illegal vote.

Ok. The Guardian article led me to believe he showed a valid drivers license. If they got it wrong, shame on them.

Deflection attempt fail.

His valid license showed he was still seventeen, which was when he was told he wasn't eligible to vote.

What in the hell did you think your post meant?

Squeal, little piggie, squeal. :D
