Leggings are what used to be called "Tights" and were only worn with leotards for dance or exercise classes. Leggings became fashionable after the movie "Flashdance" came out. Leggings were usually heavy knit that started at the ankle and could be pulled up to just below the knee.

how you should handle this depends on if you're wanting her to dress differently to please you as part of a loving partnership (which means you listen to her opinions about your attractiveness to her–clothing/hair/attitude) or if it's because you think other guys might think less of you (AS A "MAN") for being with a woman who dresses this way. kinda sounds like you are embarrassed by her.
