The erasing of whites from advertising

They call that marketing.

Capitalism enjoys it....where you find ways to sell a lot of your product with advertisements.

Wrong. It's called "pandering" (ass kissing, etc) and hasn't anything to do with the real world. Funny how 13 percent of the population is in 90 percent of the commercials on t.v.

It's the part at the very beginning that gets my goat; it shows a young white guy greeting his friends, (who all just happen to be of foreign ethnic origin) he greets them with the phrase "Wagwan" which means "What's going on?" in Jamaican English. They all then begin affectionately mocking him for saying it because apparently you shouldn't say it if you're white.

This advert shows just how increasingly alienated whites are becoming in our own homelands and that Google thinks this is a good thing.

It looks to me like they're just a bit amused that he felt the need to use their slang. I'd probably get the same reaction from my white British friends if I used British slang.

Funny how that 13 percent of the population is and has been an original and major creative engine in driving several facets of the capitalism of this country's culture for decades if not centuries.

You got the CEO of Goldman Sachs hosting live DJ raves on his downtime. Please don't even try to tell me he learned that culture from his family history or is able to do such parties as "DJ D-Sol" because he was down with that life from day one.

The advert as a whole (as it should be seen) says something entirely different from what your feelings wish to portray it as, but never fear, Erf...I totally understand why your basic Whiteness is threatened by this. ;)

Why just the other week my trumper friends decried/lamented/mocked commercials for depicting all white males as buffoons these days.

Whatever you need to call it to feel good about yourself. Marketers certainly know wtf they're doing more than you're scared of demographics.

Here's something for you to ponder on:

Historical black culture - I'm talking about Blues, Soul, Rap, hip/hop and so on, couldn't have come into being in Africa or a non-British West Indies/Jamaica; surely it's the English language and the eco system into which black people were brought, albeit a largely hostile one and against their will, that the culture developed.

If he's their friend why shouldn't he use "their slang?" excluding someone from using certain terms just because they're not the correct ethnicity isn't very inclusive is it?
Racial foreigners were never, stopped from using traditional British phrases and slang, in fact it was welcomed and encouraged as part of their integration. Nowadays though, many immigrants don't even speak English very well - if at all, nor are they encouraged to by many of the left-leaning local authorities, choosing instead to have foreign language signage everywhere.

The sad fact is, in large parts of Britain's major cities now, white people feel as though they are in a foreign country.

Advertising is always targeted at folk with money. Gay people are few but are known to have very significantly greater discretionary expenditure potential - lacking dependents. Young professional women similarly have more money to spare, and the advertising directed at Blacks and Hispanics is directed at the aspirational and better off components of those groups.

It's not surprising that poor white trash like the op feel left out, but they are not buyers. Similarly, old guys, Bellisarius for example, are too set in their ways to respond to advertising and are quite logically ignored. I am even worse old, and a Scot, no ones gunna waste time trying to get my money.

The advertisers know what they are doing, they are focusing on where the un-committed money is.
 
I too have noticed this. The Limu Emu used to clearly be Caucasian, and now he's some kind of fucking bird.

Surely the popularity of traditional black music depends on who’s playing it. White people don’t listen to black music until white people like Elvis, The Beatles, Paul Simon or The Police make records of it.

There is a lot of truth in that. frankly, much of the original blue's music by those black musicians is unlistenable in it's raw state. Zeppelin and the Stones, etc, refined it and gave it a broad appeal

What you are talking about is a tradition in America that started when radio stations would not play that "raw" stuff if it was sung by a black musician, but would play the same songs if sung by a white person. Little Richard's recording were just "too much" for white-owned stations, but when Pat Boone sang Tutti Fruiti, it got 10 times the airplay when that song first appeared on the scene.

Eventually that control over airplay by racist radio stations morphed into white kids doing their own versions of black blues standards. White audiences would suddenly eat it up, because coming from a white kid it became more "listenable" to them. So these white kids had the best of both worlds, acting like they embodied the "dues paid" in those songs, and making a lot of money.

Dunno about the rest of you, but I pray every day to help soothe the tender, injured sensibilities of racists who are constantly terrorised by seeing dark faces in commercials. :heart:
 
Whites have been under-represented in advertising for several years, however in the last few months whites are quickly vanishing almost entirely from major mainstream corporate advertising, especially on TV, in the US and many other western countries.

When a white is shown its usually as a token background character or as part of a mixed couple or is obviously gay (though even gay whites are appearing with less frequently).

According to census data whites are still a majority of the US population yet they are rapidly vanishing from TV.

White males are routinely portrayed in commercials as gay, weak, and needing guidance from stronger, wiser, females. White females are reserved for bedroom and mattress scenes with males of color, or instances where they can be shown in superiority to white males, but you will never see them in character where they educate or advise black males, for instance. It's all quite amusing and just another part of the ongoing, planned, dispossession of the ethnic majority in America, but unrelated to actual reality.:)
