Colin Powell, first African-American Secretary of State, has passed away at age 84 from complications after acquiring the Covid virus.

I have been told that he's an old fuck and so this death is acceptable to the greater good.
You need to listen more.
His death is not a reason to lock down the entire population and cause massive destruction of the economy that you leftist can't stand and do the whole nanny state where everything is FREE for everyone because the godlike government miracles it into existence... fantasy.
So hopefully they bury his ass in the front leaning rest and the rest of us can get the fuck on with life.
You leftist can sit in your homes, alone, with 8 masks on, doing nothing.

Powell had been battling multiple myeloma for almost a year. It's a tough disease to keep at bay.
That's probably the most likely reason he died, or at least died now instead of a few months from now. Not disputing Covid was the proximate cause of death if that's what the family says, but a cancer of the blood in an 84-year-old man is obviously not ideal for fighting off any disease.
Yes, we should not do anything to react to Covid becuz freedumbz.
Interestingly enough, he died when there was no lockdown and no mask mandate in his state......he wasn't even required to be vaccinated.
He had total freedumz and so did everyone else around him
You should listen to yourself more.
What planet is this Q-bot living on where "lockdowns" are even being talked about, much less implemented? The country has effectively been open with no restrictions except (in some places) masking since late spring 2020.
I was just in the South, and aside from a hotel or two I did not see a mask mandate anywhere. Move on to some new talking points.
Anyway, Powell served his country, so kudos. Kind of blew up his reputation in the interest of promoting Dubya's dumbass war, though, and that needs to be the first line in all the obits.
I didn't say that you dishonest liar.
Just suggesting that may radical and destructive (only for poor/little people not that you care about such things) authoritarianism shouldn't be the "go-to" for the USA.
Despite all those lockdowns and mask mandates they did have, old sick people still get taken out by a mild cold??
No shit.....
Why? I'm not the one lacking self awareness here
Last spring 2021, and the USA, where (D)'s want lockdowns FOREVER~!!!
If it saves just 1 life.
Because the south.
Try one of the vaccine passport racist places like NYC or SF.
No mask? Some blue haired Karen is going to get you fired for that .
Nope, hyping up covid fear is still top priority.

So you're confirming my original statement....acceptable loss.
Thanks for confirmation
Stipulating here that Powell was on borrowed time just by virtue of being 84, cases like his become inevitable once a society decides that we're just not going to do anything to mitigate the virus because it's more important to signal your loyalty to a former president by not wearing masks in airports.
The big difference between then-Republican Powell and Republicans today is that Powell admitted he made a huge mistake. Repubicans today never admit mistakes, and simply double down on insanity instead.

Colin Powell was a good man and served his country well.
He should be remembered for his achievements, not just for being a prominent black.
