Not surprisingly, American’s preference for the GOP coincides with Biden’s taking approval numbers. It’s pretty cool that the GOP’s rising popularity is particularly strong among independents. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Every G00P president since Reagan led us into a recession that a Dem had to fix. It's pretty cool that the Dems have the mental and moral capacity to fix the 'Pubs constantly fucking up our economy.

Since the GOP will be taking control of the House and possibly the Senate next year, maybe we’ll have another one!

You'd rather have nimrods running the country than adults who can stabilize the economy just to own the Libtards. You guys have no moral compass nor any patriotism.

Great news everybody! Get ready for the midterms and Rock on!

“Americans by significant margins now view the Republican Party as better than the Democratic Party at protecting the nation from international threats (54% to 39%, respectively) and at ensuring the nation remains prosperous (50% to 41%)”

Beginning with Reagan, Republicans have had nothing to offer the economy but the credit card prosperity of tax cuts.

I am old enough to remember when Republicans valued balanced budgets. Now they cut taxes and raise military spending. The best funded, best equipped military in the world did not keep the United States from being defeated by the North Vietnamese Army and the Taliban. The U.S. military is an expensive government spending program that does not work.

You can read the poll questions yourself. Or find someone to read it to you. The link is in the OP.

It does not reproduce the questions -- but that is beside the point. What international threats does the U.S. now face? Not Islamist terrorists -- not Russia -- not China -- so, who? Are the Canadians gearing up to invade?

I don't know what it says on your calendar, but mine shows the elections are thirteen months away. Anything can happen in that much time, including the Republicans overplaying their hand the way they always do sooner or later.

You really are economically illiterate.

I was a Macro Economics major, dipshit. And you cannot deny the fact of your presidents ruining our economy since Reagan.

But please, keep talking that weak shit with zero substance, troll.

I used to feel that way too.

But the Bush years (starting unnecessary wars, blatant corruption and self-serving policies at the expense of the country) soured me on the Republicans, to the point where I actually voted for Obama- and had no regrets.

But I still kept the faith, hoping a good, solid, electable Republican would charge to the forefront and I could vote for the party I once believed in as a young man.

Then Trump came along, and utterly shattered my faith in that party ever being relevant or beneficial to this country.

Are we more safe after four years of Trump than before? NO. More prosperous? NO. TRUMP is more prosperous, you can bet on that.

PLEASE, Republicans- put forward a good man, a good person, who truely cares about the greater good of this country, to run for high office...because if the guy in office now is as good as we can do, (and as bad as Biden is, he's still a thousand times better than what we had over the last four years!) then this country truely is in a dark place.

I've lived through Nixon,(Ford), Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, and Trump.

JFC

SAD!!!

Clinton, Obama, and Biden all have to be judged factoring in the economic and foreign policy disasters they inherited from their predecessors, and Jimmy Carter is a saint compared to all of them.

The only positive thing that can be said about the Republicans is that they out corrupted some of our adversaries.

High praise.

^^ The partisan hacks come up with all sorts of delusions to alleviate (D)'eez of any responsibility for their governance/legislation.

City/State run by a (D) super majority for 40-100 years?? Total shitholes clearly because Trump... LOL

Another shitty push poll which has less to do with prosperity and security and more to do with propping up the corrupt two party system. No questions about what policies Americans actually support like ending foreign wars or universal health care. Just vague generalized feelings of which is better, limiting your response to two pre-approved answers provided for you.

It would be like asking which do you prefer, fast food from Jack in Box or fast food from Burger King? Instead of what do consider a quality or healthy meal. I'm sure most people would prefer a meal from a five star steak house. Just like most people would prefer something other than Democrats and Republicans.

There are structural obstacles.

Ya know  BOBO is correct ;) You’re the dumbest ass on lit, the most factually incorrect propagandist, and add the least to any conversation.

"A terrible economic record"

Contrary to the myth he’s promoted, President Trump “will leave office in January with a historically bad record on the economy,” said John Harwood. Chief economist Mark Zandi of Moody’s nonpartisan credit service recently studied the record of the 13 presidents since World War II and found that Trump will be the only one to exit the White House “with fewer Americans employed than when he started,” and with smaller growth in economic output than any of those predecessors.

Trump’s “America First” policies did not bring back factories from China, and his trade war failed to coerce Beijing into making the policy reforms he demanded. Yes, the $1.5 trillion tax cut he signed, mostly for corporations and the rich, provided a short-lived sugar high to an economy already near full employment. But the boost faded even before the pandemic hit.

The pandemic’s impact on the economy was devastating, but “responding to unexpected catastrophe” is a big part of a president’s job. Trump botched that test horribly. His lies about the seriousness of the viral threat led to far more deaths, illnesses, and economic damage. Trump is leaving his successor with a massive economic mess.

Trump is the only president on record who never had majority support. He lost the popular vote during 2016 and 2020. Nevertheless, he has a cult like appeal for a certain kind of American. These are whites who fear that America is changing in ways they dislike.

Christian conservatives fear a society that is becoming more secular and hedonistic. White blue collar workers fear being replaced by non whites, at home and abroad, and by computers and industrial robots. Small businessmen fear the growing popularity of democratic socialism.

The intensity of their fear can be seen by the fact that these people are beyond rational persuasion. They believe what Trump tells them because he tells them.

The appeal Trump has on Christian conservatives is bizarre. Trump is a dishonest, foul mouthed, womanizing pagan. He has only attended church a few times since compulsory chapel at the military school he attended. Trump embodies each of The Seven Deadly Sins: Vanity, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath and Sloth.
