How do CA and TX stack up?

I daresay they're moving to the blue areas of Texas, the big cities, the concentrations of population that are bound to flip Texas blue eventually.

Or at least make it purple in the future. I understand the same thing's going on in other red states like Georgia.

And ruin it just like California. :D

Demcorats: Democrats are the BEST!!! Never wrong!!!

Also Democrats: Man these Democrat run cities and states are insufferable shit holes....better move to a red place and vote for Democrats!!!

Like fuckin' locust. :D

I suspect that’s true to some extent, however the article indicates a substantial number of Blue State conservatives are moving there. And apparently there are some abortion-dependent Democrats who find Texas intolerable for their lifestyle.

Fascinating watching the Usual Suspects routinely comparing Texas to California.

Here's the main difference: California is a high-tax high-services state. Texas is a low-tax low-services (to non-whites, anyway) state.

The immigration pattern is fascinating. Virtually all of the population growth occurs within the Golden Triangle of San Antonio, Dallas and Houston, with Austin in the center. Austin is deepest blue, Houston is deep blue, San Antonio is almost entirely blue and Dallas is getting there....particularly in the wealthy suburbs.

Outside of the triangle Texas is a bright red shithole, the roads are shit, the jobs are shit and the people are shit. The main industries are oilfield and meth.

Texas is getting bluer by the minute.

One final observation: "Electricity costs are half of California" will not apply after November 1st.....the libertarian power grid failed in February and the repair cost will be borne by customers as investors demand sustained rate of return. I've already gotten my happy-face "we're going to fuck you over on the rates!" mail from my power company.

Ding-ity ding ding - spot on.

Here's how they stack up:

California: Often emulated and fantasized about - for better or worse - by other states + other parts of the world.

Texas: The stinky butt of a majority of jokes made at America's expense, both within & outside of this country.

:rose:

Don't forget Forth Worth, which was probably the biggest Republican city in the country...but Biden carried it in 2020. That trend will continue too.
