Story.

Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida appeared to endorse a white nationalist conspiracy theory that Tucker Carlson promoted on his Fox News show last week.

".@TuckerCarlson is CORRECT about Replacement Theory as he explains what is happening to America," Gaetz, a Republican, wrote in a tweet Saturday.

Carlson embraced the "Great Replacement Theory" on his show Wednesday during a segment attacking President Joe Biden for the Haitian migrant crisis that played out on the southern border last week.

He accused Biden of intentionally bringing immigrants into the country for political purposes and falsely said Biden supports open borders.

Carlson said Biden wants "to reduce the political power of people whose ancestors lived here, and dramatically increase the proportion of Americans newly arrived from the third world."

"In political terms, this policy is sometimes called the great replacement - the replacement of legacy Americans, with more obedient people from faraway countries," Carlson said.

The Great Replacement Theory has been used by white nationalists and white supremacists who argue that people of color are replacing white populations or people with European roots.

The theory has inspired violent extremists, including the shooter who killed 23 people at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, in 2019, and the gunman in the Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand that killed 51 people, also in 2019.

All the press about Gaetz recently has involved sex scandals, but dude's a lot worse than sleazy. This shit is fucking dangerous.

... - the replacement of legacy Americans, ...

Like the Cree, Seminole, Huron, Erie, Apache, Navajo, Chippewa, Blackfoot, Kiowa .... ?

... with more obedient people from faraway countries, ...

Like England, France, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Finland, Hungary .... ?

I have said for years the primary motivation behind the promotion of illegal immigration by Democrats is to replace the American voting majority with people ignorant enough to vote for Democrats. Democrats have come to realize their socialist ideas bleed popularity with each and every election cycle. The truth is they've run out of euphemisms for their communist ideas and realize their only hope for success is the need to appeal to unsophisticated populations that actually need to to live off the labor of others, hence they import them, illegally, in order to create that voting demographic. This is why they have a gigantic amnesty for millions upon millions of illegals in their infrastructure bill. They are attempting a naked disenfranchisement of the present voting majority in the United States. Yes it is dangerous, dangerous to Democrats when that present majority finally wake up to it all.

I have said for years the primary motivation behind the promotion of illegal immigration by Democrats is . . .

. . . nonexistent. What, you think DACA, or opposition to that pointless wall, or any amnesty bill (the most important of which in this century was W's, not any Dem's), was "promotion of illegal immigration"? That's some deeply pernicious bullshit.

No need to crap your pants over it, Peck. Every word and nuance of what I posted correctly identifies the true motives of the congressional Democrats exemplified by their legislative efforts. They are the most destructive force in America today, and you are their apologist and primary quisling here on Lit.

You're the quisling. I do not side with America's enemies, Trump and his protofascist followers. And it's utter nonsense to think the Democrats have any ambition to win elections through immigration, legal or illegal -- that approach would take too long to pay off, because immigrants cannot vote until naturalized, and, no, none of them are voting nevertheless.

You do side with their ideals, values, customs and culture though.

Often against and directly in an effort to undermine the USA's.

So yea, you are.

Trump and his followers.

Are liberal patriots and nationalist who love the USA and don't want to turn it into Venezuela like the anti-American leftist such as yourself.

No previous wave of immigrants undermined America's customs and culture. They changed it, but such things are bound to change with time anyway, and we have never had any good reason to regret their presence.

We aren't talking about immigrants though peck.

When are you going to stop lying and recognize that hostile foreign peoples making forced entry into the USA is NOT immigration.

Let me know when you're able to take the bat shit blinders off and acknowledge reality.

Illegal immigrants are still immigrants, not invaders. And nobody who is "hostile" comes here at all, unless they are terrorist sleepers, and we have no reason to suspect the presence of such in the present wave. Immigrants, legal or illegal, come here to join our society, not to undermine it. Mostly, they just want a chance to hang out in the Home Depot parking lot and pick up odd jobs, which apparently pay more than they can earn in the old country.

I notice nobody is yet actually defending Gaetz on this point, nor Carlson, who began this whole thing by citing the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 as some kind of election-rigging or assault on democracy.

In fact, we have never since 1965 had cause to regret that reform, which scrapped the openly racist national-origins-quota system put in place in 1924.

Carlson:

"Tucker Carlson is basically ‘Daily Stormer: The Show.’"
—Daily Stormer post, August 24, 2018[4]

Carlson has a long and storied history of spouting out white nationalist rhetoric.[43]

His racism and extreme homophobia dates at least as far back to his 1991 college yearbook, where his biography listed "History, Christian Fellowship 1 2 3 4, Jesse Helms Foundation, Dan White Society".[5]:184 Dan White was the assassin of San Francisco City Councilmember and gay rights activist Harvey Milk.[44]

He claimed that California is becoming a third world country (it's not) because of scary browns Latin American migrants.[45] He believes Mexico has interfered in American elections more successfully than Russia by "packing our electorate".[46]

On his MSNBC show, he called Canadians "stalkers" and "like your retarded cousin". After the controversy he then went on the CBC program The Hour and gave an equally offensive non-apology.[47]

3 days after a white supremacist committed a mass shooting in El Paso, he dismissed white supremacy as "a hoax", "just like the Russia hoax".[note 1] [48] (He then declared that he never "met anybody, not one person, who subscribes to white supremacy", suggesting that he has never looked in a mirror lately).[49]

He promoted the alt-right social media platform Gab on his show.[50]

He claimed Ilhan Omar was "living proof that the way we practice immigration has become dangerous to this country", citing "values are simply antithetical to ours."[51]

He called Iraqis "semiliterate primitive monkeys" and said that Afghanistan is never going to be a civilized country because the people aren't civilized."[52]

He promoted the racist/islamophobic/anti-semitic alt-right "The Great Replacement" theory on Fox News.[53] The Anti-Defamation League responded to this by, in a public letter to Fox News, calling for Carlson to be fired, citing multiple racist and bigoted incidents in the past. [54] Carlson responded to this criticism by doubling down on the racism and xenophobia, wailing that the Democratic party was "trying to replace the current electorate" with "more obedient voters from the Third World." [55]

Carlson claimed that George Floyd died of drug overdose.[56]

Due to Carlson's racism and other toxic dickish behavior, by April 2021, Carlson was too toxic for all but the sketchiest of advertisers (such as bullshit artists like Mike Lindell's MyPillow, and bogus nutritional supplement promoters), despite being (depressingly) the most-watched host in cable news at the time. [57]

Your ignorance is your enemy. It makes you just as dangerous. That amnesty will make automatic citizens out of those Third World itinerants illegally invading our country. Their numbers will upset the voting majority in America. To think otherwise of Democrat motives is to be adolescently naïve.

Having new citizens with differing perspectives changes voting priorities. So what? That's how voting works.

They are invaders. The President who encouraged them to break our laws is a criminal.

I think not. They'll have to go through the usual process, including seven years' residence before they can even apply for naturalization.

Their numbers will upset the voting majority in America.

To change is not to upset. And the Latinos have demonstrated that the Dems cannot always count on their vote.

The country will in no way be worse off for having larger Latino and Asian populations.

Immigration =/= invasion.

Type that 100 times before you again comment on any immigration-related matters.

You type it, in this context it's absolutely in error. So, it's more in line with your misunderstanding of the "issue" which is more accurately expressed as Illegal Immigration = Invasion. Maybe you should type that 100 times. Report back when you have located a clue.
