Son has been retraining for a different career while working a less well paid job to pay the rent and tuition.

He’s just completed the course and applied for a great job at a multi million pound finance company which takes 4 trainees every couple of months and, after 3 weeks of interviews and technical tests and other messing about, he finally got a place. He got the offer letter, accepted it, got the emailed contract and handed his notice in at his existing job.

His girlfriend of 2 years then ended their relationship because she wants to stay in her home town at the other end of the country and has changed her mind about moving back up here (they met at university).

And today, he was told by his new employer that they have changed their minds about taking anyone on and have withdrawn the offers sent to all 4 trainees including him.

So, in a week he’s lost his existing job, his new job and his girlfriend. And it’s his birthday next week.

Life shouldn’t be this shit when you’re young.
