One rarely hears them, but, yes, every state has a state song. Florida's was once "Old Folks at Home," better known as "Swanee River." Eventually the embarrassment about the racism got to be too much -- lyrics about "the old plantation" and "Oh, darkies, how my heart grows weary," plus the song's minstrel-stage origin (in old cartoons, every time someone gets a faceful of ash, a bar from "Swanee River" will play) -- so they changed it to some other song that nobody seems to know.

Stephen Foster never even saw the Suwanee River, he just picked the name off a map, and changed the spelling so it would scan.
