When I started on here with my first 'scratch an itch' story in February 2017, I thought that would be my lot. One fetish story, a few dozen views, maybe a score of 3.2 if I was lucky.

My 50th story was published on Thursday and over the course of last night, I went past one million views.

Gobsmacked does not even come close.

Thanks to everyone who has viewed, voted and commented (well, nearly all of you!) and thanks to the 413 people who follow my fevered outpourings.

I think the next fifty stories may take longer than 4.5 years!

Congratulations on your success! Building up a catalog of good stories is really important in building readership.

A new author I helped with some editing on a story complained about not getting many viewers recently so I told them to give it time and told of my experience on my former non-erotic site versus here.

On my other site on over 60 stories (with a total of over 250 submittals, ie., one-shot stories or chapters) over six years, my total views to date are about 65,000. In just under two years here and about 1/10 as many total submittals, I'm at nearly 300K views.

We are blessed with a lot of readers here, and adding good new stories generally attracts new readers to one's old stories.

It is interesting and oddly enough I have never taken the time to add the total of views — until just now; 968,000 views/clicks / 40 works / 332 followers.

Now, given that my join date is 2007 it's clear that I don't spend much of my time writing. It really is just more of a winter/bad weather hobby. Frankly, I'm surprised at the number of clicks the stories have accumulated — could probably cut the actual reads down to half the total clicks. So like Lily, I'm finding this all quite interesting. And to realize that there are some who publish here who would need a computer to calculate all their views/clicks is humbling … and inspiring.

My rule of thumb, based on my chaptered stories and various experiments over time, is that the number of complete Reads is around 20 - 25% the total number of Views. So on that basis, with 1.3 million Views over 100+ chapters/ stories (just over a million words at my last quick count), that's around quarter of a million Reads. Which, when you put it that way, sounds pretty impressive. All for free .

I just looked at the top lists and saw one of my stories 'That's what friends are for' hit the #15 slot on the all time most favorited story list with 4067.
